Welcome to THE OG Parker John’s in Kiel, WI. We opened our doors in 2008 to the small city of Kiel and haven’t looked back. The smallest PJ’s, operating out of an 1800 square foot building, has all the character of your local dining hot spot. We offer a full bar, ice-cold tap beer, and loaded Bloody Marys to compliment the hickory smoked meats and stone-fired pizzas served up in a unique dining area with picnic tables and booths to park your ass. We hang our hats on being the busiest delivery restaurant in the company while operating in the smallest population density. Dine in, call for a pickup or delivery or order online. We look forward to serving you.

So we came on a Friday night and it was packed. The staff were doing everything they could to make things go as fast as possible. Everyone was in a good mood and High Spirits. The drinks were delicious and the appetizers came out quickly. The main courses were very fulfilling. The game’s up front are a little noisy when you’re sitting at the first booth. Parking lot has pretty decent parking as long as you don’t have a trailer or anything. Food prices are a little bit higher than they used to be but that’s pretty much what you would expect during this time of inflationary uncertainty. Overall this place has a lot of great knick knacks and Wisconsin heritage most people will enjoy. The names on their menus are pretty entertaining. I’d suggest getting here early and don’t wait for The Rush.

Service is top! Very friendly, quick and attentive. The food is very good. We had one of the specialty mac-n-cheese, delicious. The frito pie was killer (and I’m a harsh judge having grown up in OK and TX). The brisket was excellent. Tender, juicy, well smoked. Not sure what wood they’re using. Hickory is my flavor preference and I don’t think this was hickory. The andouille sausage was ok, I’ve been spoiled by one of the best sausage makers in the world though so it’s not fair to compare. I liked it, will choose a different dish next time. The mocktails are really fantastic. Atmosphere is lively without being intrusive to individual tables, which is unique. Will be back to try more of the extensive menu.

I made a pick up order for the 2 step combo meal. ordered pulled pork and the shrimp with fries and the house made mac and cheese. well I got told 25min before my order was going to be ready I got there 13min before my pick up time. my fries were cold, the amount of mac and cheese porting is so tiny then what you would even get out of a box I could buy from the store for $1. the shrimp were cold as well. the only good park was the pulled pork. also didn’t come with corn bread like it says. overall I would highly suggest checking your boxes and making sure the food is hot or warm before you leave. I’m definitely not impressed after paying pretty much $34. I’ve heard great things but now I will not be making to go orders.

Enjoyed the Carolina and The Lone Star Brisket along with some Frickles! Great service, highly recommend. Hope everyone who goes has a great experience!!!

June 4th husband and I took family because we were so impressed on our first visit. Food was awesome but Service was so SLOW this time, waited 10 minutes to pay my bill and the waitress couldn’t even give me the correct change. Very disappointed this visit.

Ordered a few times before the first ever was fantastic covered in cheese and onions/peppers like a Philly is suppose to have with a cup of sauce in the side, the last few times have looked like this picture below and not so pleasing. Ordered New Year’s Eve ( I’m sure it was busy ) but we spent $45-50 for our meals and this was not acceptable. Dry and cold.
It was literally a slab of cheese 4-5 peppers maybe 2 onions if lucky and cold by the time I got it :/

I can’t say enough about how GREAT the food was. I love BBQ, what guy doesn’t. My wife drives 4 hours for ice cream I would drive fours hours fore a full stomach and a cooler for of ribs. This food is the BEST the north has to offer. Heck it beats some not all southern but some southern BBQ.

DO NOT TAKE A BITE!
I found DIRT in my pizza from the Kiel location.
I am sooo grossed out I want to PUKE!

*I do accept the response, and appreciate the explanation. It does make me feel a bit better, but still was an off-putting experience.

Wife and I decided to go out for food Fri afternoon. Our curiosity was piqued by a barbecue joint in Kiel, of all places. Exterior was nondescript, we weren’t expecting much… But not true! The food served by these folks was amazing. The special was all you can eat catfish, which is what I got, served with a strange but delicious corn bread, and a sweet-spicy horseradish sort of creamy sauce on the side, which was a perfect match flavorwise with the rest of my food. Catfish came in giant “slabs”, perfectly breaded and cooked. Not fishy or ” muddy ” so they must have been marinated. Soooo good!
Kerrin had John’s blackened tips brisket sandwich along with sweet potato French fries- served with a heavenly dipping sauce faintly reminiscent of cinnabon icing. No dessert needed after this! Kerrin thought the brisket was a bit chewy, but not a deal breaker. I will try ribs on next visit.
This is a pleasant gustatory find in the Kettle moraines. Sorry about the pics, wasn’t planning on posting anywhere, so all you get are empty plates and smiling faces.
