Delicious! As soon as you walk in you are smacked in the face with an amazing aroma of spices. This was my first time ever eating Indian food and it will definitely not be the last. We got Chicken Ghee to start, which had such deep flavor with a good amount of spice. Then we followed up with the Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan. Everything was amazing. They do offer cocktails, but be forewarned ice isn’t an automatic thing here. Depends on the drink. So, be cautious when ordering an alcoholic beverage. Otherwise a great experience. Jay was really nice and he seemed invested in us enjoying our time. I will be returning and I am looking forward to it.

Excellent place for lunch or dinner. The menu is high and there’s plenty of choices for people who love Indian food plus for those just trying it out. If you’re new to this cuisine then try any of the fried rice dishes. I love the veggie spring rolls too! The service was quick. They can accommodate large groups as well!

⭐ Honest Review – Monks Indian Restaurant
I visited Monks Indian Restaurant for dinner and ordered a family pack goat biryani (spicy).
Positives:
The rice had good flavor.
Sweets and curry were tasty.
Concerns:
Even though I requested spicy, the biryani was not spicy.
The goat meat was not cooked properly — it was chewy, smelly, and didn’t taste fresh.
This raises a serious concern about the quality and freshness of the food.
Food taste matters, but customer health is most important. Please focus on serving fresh, well-cooked food so that everyone can enjoy safely and confidently.
If the quality improves, I’d be happy to change this review.

We dined at Monk’s in Cypress couple of days ago and were pleasantly surprised to see a newly added bar. It looked very nicely stocked and well decorated. We enjoyed some delicious Indian-Chinese food and wonderful service from Jay. The portions were huge. We will be back!

We went here for dinner and Dave took care of us. The garlic naan, chicken masala and saag paneer was delicious! We got plenty of food that we took the rest home. I forgot to take a photo so I took photos of our take out containers. I can’t wait to eat it again!

Decided to try this place out and it was great. Jay was helpful and attentive, made sure to accommodate my allergy, and was generally a great server. We had the chicken vindaloo and was super tasty and just right amount of spice (med). We did have to take out some of the bigger spices but definitely was still worth it. The restaurant is quaint and definitely feels family owned, that being said the music is questionable… just a mix of rock one moment and what I assume is modern the next, all in all it was just kinda loud. Didn’t mind that I couldn’t understand it just that it was a bit too loud. Overall will definitely be coming back 🙂

From the moment we walked in the customer service was wonderful. I love friendly engaging, helpful waitstaff. They asked had we been there before then kindly volunteered to help us navigate their many delicious items. We were quite pleased and will definitely return. Don’t let spicy scare you off. I’d recommend living on the edge somewhere between 4 alarm and budding inferno. That’s where I nestled and I’m glad I did because the heat was just right, enhancing the other flavors without overwhelming my taste buds with flames. The spicy fried are a must and the complement the lentils beyond words.

Delicious Local Indo-Chinese Restaurant. I recommend the drums of heaven and the goat fry biryani! You can tailor the spice level to your liking and they really adhere to it. I cannot tolerate too much heat and I find the mild / medium heat levels to be the right amount of spice without skimping on flavor. I like to get my meals to go, but if you would prefer to dine in, they have a nice little place with enough seating and a fully stocked bar. You got to try this place out if you are in the mood for some good Indian food with some dishes highlighting fusion twists with Chinese influences.
