Here’s a guy who doesn’t drink coffee writing a review about a coffee place. Given that I’m not in to their “main event” I would have a hard time giving them the full five stars. That said, of the four things I was able to try on a recent visit I had the following thoughts:

Avocado toast – absolutely the best bite I had. I loved the simplicity of this dish! Toast, avocado coarsely mashed with salt & pepper, some micro greens, crumbled goat cheese and a drizzle of honey. It was simultaneously sweet and savory plus crunchy and creamy. I wish I hadn’t agreed to split it with Kid 2.

Apple and cream cheese toast was a close second. The apples were cooked until soft but retained just the right amount of firmness.

Pumpkin bread was another yum. I liked the slight saltiness and the firm but moist bread. This is one that would benefit from being served warm. It may be available that way but it wasn’t offered.

Coffee cake muffin fell short when compared to everything else but probably was just overshadowed.

I wouldn’t characterize myself as part of the toast trend but I sure did love the avocado toast! I also appreciated the very generous discount they offered to people who brought gifts in for the donation event that lead to my first visit.

Given that they are open 7-4 on weekdays and have WiFi available I am likely to be back to get some work done while having a snack one of these days.

This place is a hidden gem! We’ve eaten here and had coffee here several times and each time it almost gets better! They have a small menu, with some seasonal items, but each thing I’ve had is absolutely delicious! The way they perfectly blend simple flavors, both in their food and their latte flavors, is nothing short of magical. Today I had the almond croissant and it is the perfect combination of buttery, nutty, flaky, and decadent; I got my 12 year old the pumpkin snickerdoodle and he actually said “mmm so soft and crispy with just the right amount of cinnamon.” Oh and the autumn flight was everything I hoped it would be! Stout, sweet, seasoned, perfectly balanced.
If you’re ever near Clayton/Richmond Heights do not miss your opportunity to try Coma Coffee!

10/10 coffee shop for those desiring to study or work on a labtop. It has very nice ambiance with lots of natural lights. There are lots of seatings at two levels as well as patio seatings for nice sunny days.

I always really enjoy going to Coma. Their coffee beans are really good, the atmosphere is great, location is great, and it’s more than just a coffee shop. I think Coma might be the best coffee shop that has a full food menu. Complete package. Their double Coma smash burger with fries were really good. Were they the best burger and fries I’ve ever had? No. But, it’s a coffee shop, and for a coffee shop; it is extremely impressive with the quality of food they have. Not to mention, they serve alcohol as well. All around win. Check this place out.

Coffee: 9/10
Coma Double Smash Burger: 8/10
French Fries: 7/10

Love Coma! Especially the upstairs area for more low key vibes. Mercy J and Ella P are great baristas with great recommendations!
I got the sugar cookie latte and it was great! I think coffee and food are the strengths of the shop over tea. Love when I see the managers and owner being friendly and nice to the baristas!

I’ve been a loyal patron of Coma since they first opened, and they’ve consistently delivered high-quality food and drinks. Whether you’re into pour-overs or flavored lattes, the coffee is always excellent—you won’t be disappointed.

Their food is equally impressive. I’ve tried a wide range, from pastries, cookies, and brownies to hot dishes from the kitchen, and I’ve enjoyed every bite. My go-to is the breakfast burrito with the Southwest vegan patty and a side of salsa. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve ordered it—it’s reliably delicious.

The space itself is warm, welcoming, and comfortable. Coma is usually bustling, especially on weekends, but there’s plenty of seating, so you’re likely to find a spot.

If you’re local, Coma deserves to be a regular stop. And if you’re visiting from out of town, it’s an absolute must for great coffee and satisfying food.

We wanted to love this place but only our coffee drinks and baked goodies from the display were good. We waited about 30 minutes for our simple egg orders to arrive – seeing that people who stood in line behind us have already been served. My husband went to the counter to remind about our order. And only after that the food has arrived. Its taste and presentation were not something worth waiting for that long. Oh well…

Coma coffee exceeded my expectations; the strawberry matcha was so good that we ordered one to go on the way out!
We also ordered a mango matcha tonic that was tastier than I thought it would be. Their dishes were really yummy too!

The food is decent, but at a high price point. It also takes 20-30 minutes longer to get your food than the time you’re given when you order. Even just coffee usually takes 30+ minutes. The atmosphere is beautiful with the large windows and upper section. Another interesting bit is that there are no specials offered to the tenants whatsoever. The previous restaurant had lunch specials and other offers for the tenants since they bring so much business to the store.

This is my third time here and first time trying the food. I normally get the coffee or matcha. Service is quick and there’s plenty of seating but it gets really busy. It’s nice to study here if you find a spot. The food wasn’t too bad either!
