Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck was busy — and I mean busy. The whole food truck area was hustling and bustling, but this truck in particular had a serious lineup. We waited quite a while just to get one plate, and a lot of people ahead of us were ordering multiple plates at a time, which definitely adds to the wait.
That said, the shrimp was really good and super garlicky, messy, and worth trying at least once if you’re in Oahu. Just don’t come starving or in a rush. Expect a wait and plan for it.

Classic Hawaiian grindz and 100% worth the jaunt! If you don’t think some of the best shrimp you’ve ever had can come from a food truck, be prepared to be happily mistaken!
The garlic shrimp is a delicious, finger licking no-brainer but do not pass up trying the whole menu with your friends, family style.
Grab the delicious cool and creamy sides to help ease the heat on some of the spices dishes too so don’t be scared! Lol

We got into a short line on a Monday and food was ready in a minute. The 12 big shrimp was cooked just right in real garlic and butter. The rice was perfectly cooked with garlic bits on top. The private lot had covered tables and had other interesting and quaint trucks and artisan venues. Also some beautiful chickens freely roaming.

This is hands down one of the best garlic shrimp scampi I’ve ever had! I’m a foodie and have traveled to many places for food, I love shrimp scampi but you can’t find real good ones just anywhere. This hidden gem understood the assignment! There’s so much flavor in their garlic shrimp scampi. It was a like a whole party in my mouth. The next day I woke up craving it again, that’s how good it was! The lady at the counter was also very kind and nice. I would highly recommend it this place.

Gosh, as a visitor from Texas, this was the best shrimp and rice experience I have had in my life. The Scamp was out of this world and truly amazing! The shrimp could have been slightly more warm but the rice and shrimp combo was still fantastic and worth getting. 10/10 recommend.

Look for the white food truck with the Giovanni’s name. Driving from the east side of the island, you’re gonna see a lot of shrimp trucks, but this one is the best! There’s a permanent open-air covered pavilion with tables & seats.
FOOD:
Shrimp Scampi
Total awesomeness. Finger licking good butter & garlic. It comes with 2 scoops of rice topped with chopped garlic, though I’m not a fan of rice with shrimp (maybe do a mac salad?) I could NOT replicate this at home no matter how much I tried.
SERVICE:
The staff were friendly and food service was quick.
OVERALL:
It’s all in the fun of driving there, mingling with locals & tourists, all on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

We went for the famous Shrimp Scampi, and it was nothing short of fantastic. The shrimp were huge, perfectly cooked, and smothered in a sauce that was beautifully garlicky. If you’re a fan of garlic, this dish is a dream—it’s got that wonderful, punchy flavor that makes every bite addictive.
The meal is simple, but everything on the plate is perfect. The portion of two scoops of rice was just right for soaking up all that incredible garlicky sauce and making it a truly satisfying lunch.
