Waitress made a point to visit every table but ours at least twice, most of them three times after receiving food. We waited over 20 minutes to try to get our daughter’s food remade, assuming our waitress was just busy because of the sign that indicated they were short staffed… until my husband finished his food, which wasn’t bad, and then I went up front to request our daughter’s food remade as ordered. The tea and cutlery issues were enough to put me off ordering anything for myself.

The manager (presumably, they never bothered with identifying themselves) argued about the order with me- saying that it came with the items that were specifically requested to be left off. Yes, we know they come with it, that is why it was requested that they were left off? If it was no substitutions that should have been stated at the time of the order.

The tea tastes like it was made with water they got out of a gutter. We did not drink the tea and requested that it be taken off, despite this they still tried to charge us for it.

The silverware was filthy, food on all 3 place settings as well as extreme hard water stains. Citric acid is way too cheap for hard water stains to be allowed to build up like that. After the argument with the manager I pointed out that the cutlery needed to be rewashed before it was given to someone else and was told by our waitress that the 1/4″ bit of food on the knife was a hard water stain. It would be funny if it wasn’t so disgusting.

It is worth mentioning that the waitress who served everyone but us had on a t-shirt supporting a song that’s been widely criticized as having racist overtones and that my family were the only ones who were black in the restaurant. I do not believe this was a coincidence as every table around us was visited multiple times- just not us. We paid $40 for two meals and the privilege of being ignored and argued with. Never again.

Lil Mama’s is our favorite restaurant in the area! The food and service are always on point. We joked with our waitress tonight that they need to open a Lil Mama’s 2 in Santa Rosa, where we live. We were joking, but honestly, we wouldn’t be mad about it!
