This was our first time at the new location and it did not disappoint. Our Chicken Parm and Caesar salad was top notch. Chef Josh brought us our dinner and we chatted a bit about how grateful we are he decided to keep Rosebuds in Delaware. His staff is warm and welcoming. Never have we had a bad experience dining with his team. Love this place and the people who make it so special!

Hidden gem! Small space, big on service. Definitely must try the fries with pickle dust. Had the pastrami sandwich which was a not on the menu special. Absolutely some of the best pastrami I’ve ever had. Smokey and piled high. Great atmosphere and simply cannot rave about the staff enough. Drinks and menus in hand within 5 minutes of being seated. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing.

Rosebuds is the culinary nostalgia of your grandmother’s blue Pfaltzgraff dishes and heirloom silver patterns—reimagined through the lens of modern, globally inspired cuisine. It’s a small, intimate space that’s serving up scratch-made dishes to order, in a way that’s both elevated and heartfelt.
Think whipped feta with perfectly crisp veggies and pita (note: more veggies than dip would be a win, but they brought extras without even asking—that’s service), Nashville hot chicken that rivals anything you’d find down South, a cheeseburger dripping with white cheese that redefines indulgence, and a lemon pepper steak that had us audibly “ooh-ing” with each bite. I wasn’t sure about lemon pepper—but this dish might have converted me forever.
The lobster roll—albeit small—transported me right back to Maine, and the vodka sauce on the Chicken Parm had a slow-burn fire that was as satisfying as the handmade pasta beneath it. And yes, I tore the basil at the table like I was in Italy, because that’s the level of thought that goes into these dishes.
But what truly sets Rosebuds apart? Pacing.
If you’ve dined in Europe, you know the flow of a meal is a work of art. Most restaurants here rush, clump your food all together, and forget that dining is an experience. Not at Rosebuds. Every course came with the exact right timing. Thoughtful. Balanced. Relaxed. And our server was the epitome of grace—professional, present, but never overbearing.
The ambiance was quiet and intimate. Cocktails before and after dinner? Perfection. I’d come back just for those.
⚠️ One note: a few bites of the chicken were a little tough and uneditable, and portions on some “big plate” items didn’t quite match the price. But when the service, experience, and flavor are this good, you forgive these small imperfections.
We’ve now dined at Rosebuds three times—and yes, once we were met with a surprise closure on a Thursday. So, call ahead. But if it’s open, go. Just go.
This isn’t just dinner—it’s Delaware’s answer to culinary excellence, and I cannot wait to return again (and again).

Stopped in for an early dinner, the staff was pleasant, and our server was prompt and helpful. We ordered the lemon pepper steak, korean style fried chicken, and fries with pickle powder. The serving sizes was generous, meats well seasoned, the steak was tender and the fried chicken crunchy.The fries were good however the pickle powder was not that obvious. The lemon pepper was interesting seemed like a fusion of Latin and Asian influences. I’d definitely order it again.

We arrived promptly at 5PM when they opened. We had seven people. The table was of ample size but jammed into an area such that my back, shoulders, and rump were brushed no fewer than 20 times by patrons and staff trying to access the tables behind us. I was sucked up to the table and bent forward at an uncomfortable angle but could not avoid the constant contact. Even though we were almost the first to arrive, it took quite a while for our food to appear, and when it did it was staggered by almost 10 minutes. The very last thing to arrive was a meatless salad. Of the seven people at the table, five said they did not enjoy what they got. The ones who did had salads. My fried bologna sandwich looked like Kroger lunchmeat rolled up and fried. It was meh. A friend’s fried pork sandwich arrived cold. Not room temp. Cold. The fries were nothing special at all. Zero seasoning beyond salt. For the price point, one expects more. Three-quarters of the way through our meal, music began blasting from speakers over our table. It was around 6:30 at that point. I spent $120 on a meal for two, which did include 3 drinks (one of which was a beer) but no dessert. It was not good value for the money. Parking is always an issue in Delaware but that isn’t the restaurant’s fault in any way.

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner here. The place has a cool vibe; the bartenders were great, friendly, and helpful. Both dishes we tried (and the oysters) were excellent, as were the cocktails. Definitely a spot we’ll be back to.

Fantastic cocktails! Food was fantastic… with the exception of over saucing. Would be 5 Star if not for the over saucing… But I will for sure be going back and trying again. I had the “Bologna” sandwich (which was actually mortadella). Meat and bun fantastic… but just overloaded with dijonnaise. The Wedge salad fantastic… But again, absolutely swimming in dressing. I think the cook tonight might have just been over excited with dumping sauces. Unfortunate, because the sauces hid the flavor of the obviously high quality ingredients. The oyster appetizers (both fried and raw) were delicious!! The pickle dusted fries are a must have!! Not overpowering, just a great underlyinging pickle flavor.
Highly recommend Rosebud… Just hope the pints of sauce are toned down on my next visit!

All the food we ate was excellent. The prices were reasonable on food and drinks. Cozy atmosphere. The mushroom toast was incredible. My husband really enjoyed the oysters and pasta with bolognese sauce, the grilled cheese was great as well. Can’t wait to go back! Not a lot of choices for someone who doesn’t eat meat.
