Amazing breakfast! One of the best country fried steaks we have ever had. The biscuits and gravy were served hot and delicious. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. The staff were efficient, attentive and very kind. We look forward to returning.

I’ve driven past Valley Country Cafe many times but finally decided to stop in for breakfast and I’m so glad I did. The cafe was very clean with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The food was amazing, and our waitress was attentive and always on point with coffee and water refills. Prices were very affordable too. I highly recommend!

This local cafe has become our favorite breakfast spot when we come to LeClaire. The food is delicious and the waitresses are friendly and efficient. We have had biscuits and gravy with a side order of a pancake that was as big as a dinner plate and thick but light and fluffy! The biscuits and gravy cheese omelette was equally as good. The cinnamon raisin French toast with bananas was very appealing as was the tomato cheddar cheese and bacon omelette with sour dough bread toast. Lots of hot coffee refills. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves good breakfast food! Great local restaurant

This is a great unknown gem. The food is amazing (cooked by one ofnthe owners and his brother). Service was quick and efficient as well as very pleasant and personable. I think they have replaced our regular breakfast stop. Excited to try their lunch and salad bar.

Stopped in for some breakfast and got a burger instead! I went with the Jackhammer Burger with the salad bar. Good food, friendly service. I’ve been here before but this is my first time leaving a review. Would definitely stop in again.

If I choose to drive to or return from work on Highway 67, I end up passing by Valley Country Cafe each trip. I used to take this route more frequently and never noticed their large red sign from the road. This cafe came up in a recent Google search for breakfast in the Quad Cities for me, so I decided to seek them out for a nice Saturday morning meal.

From the appearance of their sign, I expected Valley to be an older, hole in the wall type joint. The sign has that sort of “I’ve been here for a long time and am an established part of this community” look. I probably shouldn’t pre-judge, because the interior is definitely well kept up and modern looking. The floors are a shiny wood laminate throughout the dining area. The ceiling is a 2 foot square drop ceiling with a combination of florescent fixtures, a few large chandeliers in the center of the space, and black geometric suspended fixtures along the periphery above the booths. Tables fill the large dining room, with a modestly sized fireplace at the north end of the space. It all comes together to feel like a large modern breakfast restaurant, but has the distinct feeling of something unique to the area. It was warm, quiet, and relaxing. I liked it.

I chose the Hobo Skillet with scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. This particular skillet ingredients included onions, green peppers, and sausage, with hash browns forming the potato base and cheddar cheese melted over the top. I enjoyed it thoroughly – the eggs were fluffy and paired well with the toast, the vegetables were well cooked and seasoned, and the sausage was in little discrete chunks that mixed well with the other ingredients. The only thing I would have liked more with this was crispier hash browns, but there was sufficient crispiness to contrast with the rest of the dish.

The waitress was very kind and attentive throughout my visit. She refilled my drink promptly as I was running low and had my skillet to me within minutes of ordering.

I’d definitely come back here on the way to work in the future for a solid breakfast. I’m glad I found the location and took the time to visit – it is truly a gem worth trying along Highway 67. Thanks, Valley Country Cafe!

Food: Food was very good. Delivered hot and within an appropriate amount of time. Would like to see real cheese on my eggs than a slice of processed cheese but it was still good.

Service: There were 4 to 5 waitresses doing various activities. They were territorial about refilling my coffee. For a mom and pop shop usually if a waitress/waitor has a full pot of coffee you don’t walk past people with empty cups just because they aren’t “your table”. The attention to check on us was few and far in between. There was a softball team there that took up most of the restaurant so there’s that.

Atmosphere: The inside has some age and wear and tear. Could use some deep cleaning and refreshing but is still nice.

Bathroom: I judge a lot as you know from my other reviews about a restaurants bathroom. The men’s restroom was awful. Wet, dirty, smelly etc. It was also not finished. The sink area looked like it was an after thought and you could see outside or into another room? I don’t know but the ceilings and walls weren’t finished and looked like the bathroom project was two bathrooms slapped together. There was hot water, soap, and paper towels so thats a plus.

Cost/Quality: The wife and I wanted to try something new as the Village Inns seem to all be going out of business. I would say Valley Cafe is close to a village inn as far as food quality and price.

Revisit/Recommend: We would probably go back, would mention this place if someone in that area needed a good meal.

First time at Valley Country Cafe and I am hooked. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs (over easy) with hash browns and sourdough toast, and in my 45 years it was hands down the best country fried steak I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and exactly what I have been searching for.

The coffee was piping hot, always fresh, and my cup never ran dry. My server Dee was outstanding, attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about how my meal was. I never had to ask for a thing because she was always one step ahead.

For $19.35, with food and service like that, it is an absolute bargain. I have been looking for an old school cafe to call home, and I believe I have finally found it. I will be back again and again.
