Loved the fried Cod filets at Fred’s..I loved the great urban experience tailgating in the parking lot..
The starter sauce was really good..I brought my own Hienz Malt Vinegar and Keptup really great day. TAKE OUT ONLY ..

Had to give Fred’s fish another try since it had been several years. I purchased the three piece fish for just under $8. The food was prepared fresh and hot. The nostalgic taste was just like I remember it. The place is a little run down, and the service was standard for a drive-through. I will return when I get that nostalgic craving again.

I saw Fred’s Fish Fry on Texas Eats TV and honestly, the food was just ok. The fish by itself is bland, so the give you bread to hide that. It’s not the worst that I’ve had, but I won’t be going back any time soon

Normally, I’m very happy with this location and its food. However, this time the shrimp looked the normal size, but once biting into it, the breading was twice the size of the actual shrimp. It looked like a jumbo shrimp normally does but disappointed this time. I definitely did not get what I paid for.
The fish fillets were good as usual but fries were near burned.

The fish here really is good. The only disappointment was the fries. For a family pack, the amount of fries given were not even enough for one person. Also tried the chicken burger. It was a very simple sandwich, just a formed chicken patty, tartar sauce and pickles, but it was pretty decent for the price. It was on sale for $1.15. The employee that helped me in the drive thru was very nice and they filled my order pretty quickly considering it was freshly fried.

I was disappointed tonight went to get some fish and it was not cooked throughly. You’re fish is the best in my opinion but tonight your fish was not good! It was raw and not fully cooked! The lady took the fish out too quick and we even told her wow that was fast n she just smiled.
Tried cooking it here at home but didn’t work so
I had to trashed it.

I haven’t eaten at a Fred’s Fish since a child so I couldn’t remember what it tasted like. After hearing so much about it, I’d thought I’d give it a shot today. We picked up our food to go. The service was good, the inside of the restaurant was okay, and as for the food; it was all right. It’s overrated and will probably not eat it again.

Went to one of the worst rated ones out of all the ones in San Antonio. We went to that one cuz it was on the way that we were trying to go to. the place was old I know it was kept us clean as it could be for its age. Was trying to figure out what’s a good I wanted to try a little bit of everything except for sandwiches the fish off the chain…. Was really worth all the good reviews of a place to check out. The shrimp was no good not worth anything extra breaded and without any flavor taste like some extra frozen shrimp. The ladies working there for really helpful and outgoing. They knew that I’d never been there before but they helped me to order and get the most bang for my buck. …….. Go get the fish it’s really good even the next day
