Storming Crab makes my favorite seafood boil – Went in 2023 and have gone back again and again!
‘Crab shack’ themed dining room with a large center bar. Friendly and knowledgeable servers. They have different options for your boil order and you can always add on extra meats, veggies, etc.
The crab legs are over cooked sometimes, but PERFECT on our most recent visit. The seasoning has been perfect both times. The seafood bread is the most delicious garlic bread in the area… Possibly the country. Rich, buttery, garlicky with gooey cheese and a balanced seafood taste.
The top shelf Long Island Iced Tea was made with love, as promised by the bartender and the Bomb Pop martini is another great option.
A must visit for any seafood boil lovers. Make sure to sign your name on a wall or beam, before you leave!

My recent trip to Storming Crab in Pittsburgh was a real treat! I went for the seafood boil and it totally hit the spot. I got snow crab legs, shrimp (with the heads off, just how I like ’em), corn on the cob, a boiled egg, and a potato all in one big delicious bag. Everything was cooked perfectly and had that great seafood boil flavor. The crab legs were easy to crack and the shrimp were plump. On top of that, the margarita I had was really, really good – super refreshing. If you’re looking for a tasty seafood boil in Pittsburgh, Storming Crab is definitely worth checking out!”

Not a bad experience. The service was pretty good. We had a very nice waitstaff. The food was good, but I thought the hot could’ve been a little hotter. That may not be their fault however. I do have a very high spice tolerance. Outside of that, it was a pretty enjoyable experience with good food. Very messy, I would absolutely suggest wearing the bib they provide..

Me and my husband went for date night..The lady at the door told us it’s going to be a 45 minute wait.I was fine with that.So we went to the bar and told her we was going.An hr go by and I went to her and politely asked her when will our table get called.She said she called my phone but nobody answered.(No she didn’t cause my phone didn’t ring).We then got a table and waited 20 minutes and nobody came to even see if we wanted anything to drink.I had to call someone over and she didn’t even know who our waiter or waitress was because we wasn’t assigned to one.She then took our order and I asked for a manager. I explained to the manager what happened and she told us that there is nothing they can do and they it a Saturday and they are busy.Which was no excuse because I been there plenty of times on a Saturday and it was NOTHING like that.I won’t be back.They need to get better employees and better management because the managers don’t even try to help.We was there for 2 hours and didn’t even get anything.Horrible horrible service.

Delightfully surprised by the boil at Storming Crab! I think this place is a fun, interesting addition to the waterfront dining scene. The shrimp/sausage/crab combo was enough for 2 meals for 2! We appreciate how thoughtfully our server packaged our leftovers and provided reheating instructions.

Interesting place. Family friendly. Seafood was delicious and you get ALOT for the price you pay. It was very well seasoned and just delicious. That being said, the atmosphere was a little to be desired for me. Kids were literally running around climbing and playing on props that were throughout the restaurant, but hey,maybe that’s what they are there for! You can sign your name and write on almost anything in the restaurant, including the walls, banisters, ect. Our waitress wasn’t rude but not friendly either and she spoke very fast so we kept asking her to repeat herself. She disappeared after food was served and we couldn’t find her to request a water. There was also some cleanliness lacking, as there was food stuck onto the napkin holder that is also the drink menu. Speaking of drinks, the gummy bear cocktail was tasty but very small, weak, and not worth 10 bucks so I’d have your cocktails somewhere else after stuffing yourself with seafood.

I used to visit The Storming Crab on weekends, usually Friday after work. The dark-haired bartender is often on her phone with AirPods in and doesn’t really pay attention to guests, which can make the experience feel a bit off. However, I came in earlier this week and was served by the red-haired bartender, and it completely changed my visit. The service was excellent, and my #6 Cajun medium was just as good as always. If the service were consistently this good, The Storming Crab would easily be the best seafood spot in Pittsburgh.

I LOVE a good boil, so we gave this place a shot. Im glad we did. The food was good( I even had enough to take home), and the service was GREAT! I will definitely be back.

This place is great. Server was super nice, food came out quickly, and food was great. Cant ask for much more honestly. The atmosphere is awesome and we got markers at the end to put our own touch on the place. Whoever the server with the red hair is, you’re doing great. Loved that they provided bibs, gloves, and wipes. Made the process super seamless. Would definitely go here again.
