Nice local haunt. Very friendly and attentive staff, five stars, most everything I’ve tried on the menu has been good, prices very fair, casual neighborhood bar ambiance four stars. Right by Devils Lake. It’s a winner. Give them a try and you can thank me later!

It’s a bar, right, so the atmosphere was what you might expect; middle of the road. I got tacos, which is what I went there for, and I thought they were great, as always. My wife got beer battered shrimp. She wasn’t a fan, but next time she’ll try the party melt – so there’s still hope! The wait staff was very attentive and personable, and they worked together to serve us – very nice to experience. If definitely go back!

Very disappointed, lived on Devils lake 13 yrs and 1st time ever going to this location. After 15mins waiting to be said even hello we finally got our drinks.. 40mins later we were served cold meat and beans with our tacos for taco Tuesday. We watched several other couples come in after us and served with their food and leave before we were even given our cold meals.. may be there was a reason why we did not try this restaurant. So after paying for 3 drinks in our are party, the food sat at our table untouched and we left. Headed north and found another restaurant offering taco Tuesday. Needless to say, spent just over a hour waiting for nothing, the 2nd location served with warm food and home within 40mins total.. won’t be back.

We stop in here every time we ride through the Irish Hills of Southern Michigan. Located on a causeway, perfectly in between Devil’s Lake and Round Lake, the Highland Inn offers the greatest tacos and ice-cold beer, a perfect combination in my book!

Terrible service. This place has been run into the ground. I don’t recognize any of the wait staff anymore and after going in and not even getting an acknowledgment while waiting to be served, I walked out.
New owner doesn’t seem to care, and I won’t be back because of it.
It’s a shame, because their Taco Tuesday was great. That brunette waitress had the gall to give me attitude when I walked out. This place doesn’t deserve your business.

Very few people in for a Friday night on a holiday weekend, but service was friendly, fast, and food was great. Half burrito was just the right size. Quesadilla was big enough that we took half home. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Very casual. Nice menu/selection from sandwiches and apps to fish fry, full dinners, and Taco Tuesday!

My wife and I won’t be returning. The service has always been friendly, but if you’re an outsider, good luck getting quality service. The food has always been good, but everything we tried to order, they were out of or are no longer serving even though it’s still on the menu. Takes way too long to to be approached by waitstaff after getting seated. The cups are very small, and staff is inconvenienced and too busy to get you refills. We asked for drink refills when we ordered, and ten minutes later a tray of drinks was brought out, but for the table next to us, which were friends of the servers. We politely asked about our refills, and we were told “yea, I’m just doing a lot of things right now.” We had hoped this year would be different, but it is still exactly the same as last year.
