While waiting on my drive-thru order parked past the yellow post a usually tolerable, dark complected female employee thought it best to sneak up to my window and scream into the cab of my truck. It was a shrill and inaudible shriek! I jumped, and murmured in anger! Looking back on the incident the only thing I might have done to warrant such behavior, was speak loudly into the drive-thru speaker. I drive a loud truck, and past employees have had a hard time hearing my order. Unfortunately those will be my last Galax Wendy’s chicken nuggies!

Why do you have the option to order through an app if you’re not going to put in the order and have it ready when I arrive?
I recently placed an order through the app (15 minutes in advance), but when I got there expecting to receive it and go straight home, I was told that I would have to wait (20-25 minutes was my wait time) for my order to be made. When questioned about it I was told that they don’t make any orders until the person arrives to pick it up. It’s then typed into the system and made. WHAT? If that’s the case, why would anyone bother to place an order in advance, when you’re going to have to wait as if you walked in and placed the order.
You wonder why people don’t eat here as much as they use too! Needless to say, it’ll probably be my last time eating here.

Every time I’ve been through the drive thru, the soda tastes like pure seltzer. The food is old. Sometimes the fries are so hard that you can’t even bite into them. Seriously, not even just super crunchy fries. I’m talking like they’ve been fossilized in stone like a prehistoric lizard. And if they don’t forget my ranch, it’s still warm and sour. It’s supposed to be in a cooler, right? It is everywhere else. The Wendy’s in Hillsville is a million times better, and has never done me wrong. I’ve visited the Galax location again recently a few times after not visiting it for a couple years, just to give it another chance, and it hasn’t changed. Still garbage.

Update today. Fries were excellent. Counter service also excellent. Burger continues to severely underperform. My advice continues to be the same regarding the Wendy’s burger. As it’s being provided, at least at this franchise, it’s a tasteless, dry, minimalist and unappealing sandwich (photo below).

Average burger this time–but it could easily be better. The weakness, easily fixed and costing a couple more pennies total on a nearly $6 simple burger/chicken sandwich, is to actually have the sandwiches sold to the public look like the products being advertised. How? Instead of a 1/4 penny paper thin slice of tomato, provide a 2 penny worth thick cut tomato slice. Instead of 1/10 penny worth of lettuce, provide a 1 penny worth of thicker lettuce. Sell what’s advertised. As it is now, the food is 20%-25% overpriced even given the current inflation. This is an insult to the patrons having to pay more than the sandwich is worth.

I figure I come to Wendy’s for lunch. I waited 30 minutes in drive thru. I am so upset. I ordered a medium combo Single Nacho Cheeseburger and I don’t think they gave me the right order. I had no choice, but to eat it. I am so very upset because I was wanting to try the Nacho Cheeseburger. I would have gone back to get it right, but I didn’t have time and I didn’t want to be late for work.

Terrible customer service!!! I forgot to grab my order after I paid for it (they have the bad habit of grabbing your card, and hand you only the drink, while the meal takes like 3 minutes to come out), and they gave me my card back and a drink and I continued driving. It was not even 5 minutes and I drove back to grab the order I had left behind. 1) They did not gave me my order. 2) The manager Laura/Lauren or whatever her name is looked at me as if I was lying, and even after I showed her my receipt she did not even offer to return my money back. If she had doubts she could’ve easily look at the cameras! But she only said come tomorrow. No apologies, no offer to change my order for something else, or return my money; NOTHING. This woman was super rude (I am talking about the manager) and disrespectful.

We had no choice but the drive-thru because there dining area was closed. We spent about 25-30mins in the drive-thru line waiting. The food specifically the bourbon bacon burger was Ahhhhhmazing, seriously. The fries were salty to the point my sisters lips shriveled up like raisins, the nugzz crispy and juicy just like they should be. The drinks – small sprite good / large strawberry lemonade looked more like water and tasted like watered down lemonade.

Visited the Wendy’s in Galax, VA on Stuart Drive and ordered the baconator fries which cost $3.99 and look at how small and puny these fries are!! Never will I go back nor suggest this restaurant to anyone.

Slow staff. While I was there I had to wait 10 minutes for a spicy chicken and other customers that were there were mad because of a raw Burger and the wait was long at the drive-through.

This Wendy’s has slowly been going down hill for months with mess ups and forgotten items but tonight Saturday 11/09/2024 was just ridiculous. I’ve worked fast food and customer service my entire working life and I don’t know when it became okay to just take items your out off of a customers order with out informing them or offering to change there order. I only noticed because the total they told me at the window was different then the ordering screen so I asked why it was different and they said oh we are out of that item so I asked them to replace it with a different item. The two lady’s working made a big deal about having to re ring up my one extra item that wouldn’t have needed to be rung in separately if they would have done there job right in the first place. Honestly would have went back through the line if they needed me too but They proceeded to tell me it’s fine I’ll just give you said item you don’t have to pay for it to just pull up and they would bring everything out when it was ready. Well as any one reading this probably guessed they still messed up my order when I finally got it but I was fed up with the staff and chicken nuggets aren’t worth arguing over. Pretty sure the worker was just concerned about her next cigarette break, while I was pulled up waiting on my food I noticed the lady who I just ordered with come out for a cigarette break with another worker. They went back on then the same worker who was just there smoking with the lady who rung us up came back out for another 2 cigarettes in a 5-10min max period. I’m a smoker myself but that’s never been okay any place I worked. I think upper management needs to check out the current management and staffing situation. There’s been issues for months but this is the first I’ve decided was enough to try and reach corporate.
