Food – pretty good, though not exactly anything to write home about. Even now thinking back on the meal I can’t say there was a specific highlight. Okay price for value with Winterlicious, but would be overpriced with their regular menu, in my opinion.
Service – on the plus side, the servers were very attentive and often checking in on us throughout the meal. Unfortunately, one issue I had was that they never told us we had a 2-hour limit until 5 minutes before the next seating was about to arrive! It was very sudden and jarring. Would have preferred to be warned in advance as we first sat down.
Location – the restaurant is located in a strange spot. It’s in an office building with most entrances closed and inaccessible except for one. This usually wouldn’t be an issue except that night was extremely cold and it was frustrating walking all around the building to finally find an entrance
Overall I’m glad we tried Bar Goa, but as there are many wonderful Indian restaurants in the city, I don’t necessarily feel an urgency to return to this one
The answers came course by course. Butter chicken rich and comforting. Charcoal dal deep and smoky. Chicken pepper fry tucked cleverly into a kulcha taco that made you pause and smile. Mango lassi cool and soothing. Naan arriving warm as if it knew its role was essential.
Service moved with quiet confidence polite attentive and never rushed. The kind that lets you enjoy the puzzle unfolding on your plate.
Only a few clues left unsolved. A table that could use a quick refresh between courses. A dessert menu that might benefit from paper instead of plastic and a careful pass for spelling and grammar. Small details yes but details matter when the bar is set at a Michelin level.
I would return without hesitation curious to see what the next visit reveals.
The flavours were light, unique, and beautifully balanced. The paneer is made in-house, and you can truly taste the difference — the paneer tikka and lasuni palak paneer were standouts. Pair that with their chilli garlic naan and you’re in for a treat.
We were also surprised with a Parle-G cheesecake for my wife’s birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the evening even more special.
A big shoutout to Alex, our server, who was attentive, warm, and made the experience memorable.
Highly recommend this Michelin Guide restaurant to anyone who loves Indian cuisine or is looking for a beautiful night out. We’ll definitely be back!
Special shoutout to Priya, who was fantastic and extremely supportive, and Vino, truly a king of bartenders—great energy and professionalism. The atmosphere, management, and overall vibe were top-notch. I felt highly motivated and would be more than happy to perform again in the future if any opportunities come up.
Highly recommended.
