The texture of the butter cream frosting had a nice firmness and not chalky that melted in the mouth. The cake had a nice bounce but still moist.
I got one cake that was lavender lemon and the other lavender white chocolate. The lemon had a delightfully subtle bite to contrast the sweetness of the butter cream. The white chocolate was very silky.
The consultation was in-depth and check ins were made throughout the process.
Best bakery, best cake! Definitely be a returning customer.
Joey and Karma (the owner) immediately contacted me after my review was posted. They apologized for the cake and asked me what they can offer for this mistake. I wanted to give them a chance as I haven’t tasted the REAL GOOD cake as other customers reviewed. Tonight, we tried it and we LOVED it!!!! Karma did extra flower decorations and the cake is soft and it has 3 layers! Each layer with their homemade strawberry jam and not very sweet! The cream too not too sweet and smooth. My husband and my kids are all satisfied! I can see how both of you cherish and tried very best to satisfy your customers! You both listened to us and willing to improve! I love this attitude!
P.s. I requested to try their crochi and they are delicious! Again, not too sweet and the texture was great with the crunchy croissant and the chewy mochi! Thx and keep up the good work! We will come back~~~~~

It’s my first time to order a birthday cake for my husband (strawberry cream cake) from Origin bakery but it’s totally disappointed. The cake is hard, texture like SaraLee cake that I need to squeeze the candle hard in the cake! The cake has a eggy smell (not baking at right temp or time) and I’m sure they didn’t add any vanilla extract to help it. The cream is too sweet and have the powder textured after taste. I guess they used icing sugar and it’s not melted and mixed well with the cream….the weirdest cream I’ve ever tasted in my life! Also there are maybe total only 1-2 chopped fresh strawberries inside the cake. None on the top. I guess their pasties are good but avoid any cake! $50 for 6 inch……… not worth….
We were able to try their June Pride Box and were amazed by the flavors and presentation.
(Disclaimer: No, our dog did not eat any of these treats but thought it was a great photo opportunity ).
As a matcha lover, I was excited to try their strawberry matcha tart. While it looked beautiful, I was disappointed that there was no noticeable matcha flavor at all. And at the price of $8 each, I would much rather have one of their matcha drinks instead. I’m reluctant to try one of these tarts again but look forward to seeing how this bakery grows and menu develops.
Edit in response to owner: Yes, I agree that everyone has their own taste preferences and I also appreciate differing degrees of matcha. My feedback is that the matcha taste, no matter how subtle it was intended, was imperceptible. I hope that you would value feedback from an early launch on your customers’ initial impressions. Thanks for your hard work. I’m a Bobae fan and as I stated, I’ll keep following this business and look forward to its development.
I’m over the moon that the owners of Bobae opened this bakery and are now offering more gluten-free options at their bubble tea shops! (Still waiting for a gluten-free + dairy-free option, though I know that’s quite a challenge for a French-inspired bakery.) The blondie bar (pictured) reminded me of the Lunar New Year delicacy nian gao but better: fluffy yet still that mochi chewiness. I’m sorry my photo isn’t terribly flattering because I already sunk into it before preparing a bowl of matcha. The brownie was also delicious with similar texture. Both were perfectly sweetened, just enough to make them treats but not too much. I’ll definitely be returning to Bobae for Origin Bakery’s gluten-free (and hopefully someday dairy-free) goodies!
