I placed my order online for pickup because I currently have a broken toe and had my dad go inside to pick it up. When the food got home, I noticed the pizza was more overcooked than usual, but still edible, so I wasn’t going to make an issue of it. However, the garlic knots were badly burnt.
I called the restaurant and explained the situation, and was told it was no problem to come back and swap the knots out. When I arrived, the young man at the counter mentioned that calls go through an answering service, but he said it would only take a few minutes to remake them. A woman from the back came out, saw the knots, apologized, and kindly remade them for me. The service from her was appreciated.
When I got home again, I discovered that the replacement set was also burnt on the bottom — even worse than the first batch.
At that point, I called back and spoke with the manager (who identified himself as Francisco). I politely asked for a refund or credit for just the garlic knots, since I had now made two trips and still didn’t receive edible food. Instead of acknowledging the issue, he insisted there was “no way” they could be burnt and said the oven “only cooks lightly.” He then said that for $3.50 he would only offer a store credit toward a future purchase — and refused to apply the refund back to my card, even though the food was unusable.
When I expressed that my concern wasn’t the dollar amount but the principle and the way the situation was handled, his response was essentially, “Go ahead and write a review.”
So here it is.
I’ve supported this business and genuinely enjoy their pizza most of the time, but this experience showed very poor customer care — especially after two trips, burnt food twice, and a manager unwilling to handle it reasonably.
I hope they take this feedback seriously, because I would love to be able to continue supporting them — but customers deserve both quality food and respectful service when something goes wrong.
Love that it doesn’t have tomato sauce. The dough is fresh, and the taste is incredible. It’s a great local place to order takeout. I’ll definitely be back next week!
The aroma is so delightful that even my cat would enjoy a piece
The owner advertised a free small pizza in the form of a coupon. We used the coupon to go. When we opened the box it was 2 very old slices presumably from their lunch period. They were disgusting and certainly not a fresh small pizza. On top of this, when speaking with the owner, he rudely said “we gave you something for free and you’re complaining about it?” The audacity of advertising a free small pizza then switching it for disgusting old slices and not saying a word about it. This is not the way to run a business and we will not patronize a dishonest and rude place. So many choices and this is how they treat customers? Can’t give zero stars but if we could we would. So many ways to handle this and the owner chose the worst one.
