Fresh, delicious food. Huge menu. Classic Chicago quick service restaurant with lots of Greek specialties. Must try the Avgolemono (Egg lemon) soup! Salads are excellent, lots of healthy and hearty ingredients with spring mix as an option for the lettuce. Would highly recommend.

Had the famous Greek Gyro for me and my wife, it was good but was very dry and hard. Not sure if it was just old meat or the ends but was not pleased with this first experience, should of just ordered an American Gyro to be honest. The Greek Gyro did not have much flavor and the one thing I can really compare this to is like a dry flavorless carnitas taco. Had to use alot of the Tzatziki sauce to finish it.

I’ve ordered takeout from this place more than once. Even though this time they forgot to include the salad I ordered over the phone, it didn’t ruin my overall experience.
The chicken was excellent — juicy and well-seasoned. The rice had an exceptional flavor, and I especially love their baked garlic baguette — it’s absolutely delicious.
If you don’t have time to cook, I sincerely recommend ordering lunch from them — it’s tasty, convenient, and reasonably priced.

I’ve been ordering whole chicken and potatoes from here over decadeand I love it! Never dry compared to others in Skokie and Nile’s – this is how you know if the place has good chicken – if your kids eat the Greek potatoes and chicken and not the others – you know from there is good.

Must try Greek gyro – it’s filled to the brim with meat, tzatziki, and tomato.
It’s probably among the best you can have in the US.
My only complaint (easily addressed) was adding a shake or two of salt to both the fries and the meat.

Love this family run restaurant, there are so few of them left and I think their food is very good.
The roasted chicken is so flavorful with flame roasted skin that’s crispy (yum). The gyro is one of the best in the city and such generous portions too. This place is very busy during lunchtime, order ahead to save time.
Only nit is about their rice, it’s too thick and mushy, wish the sauce is lighter and thinner.

Obviously when you’re looking for a place to eat you first care about the food quality then the service quality and of course the atmosphere of that place
In my case food and service it’s the most important and this is what I found at this place.
I was looking for a low key place to eat authentic food
My family and I we stop to dine in and we ordered few different items from their wide menu, including “today special”
For the food quality and presentation I would rate the place 5 out of 5
For the service quality I would rate it 4.5 out of 5
And that because they served the side dish way before the main dish.
For the dine in atmosphere at that place I would rate it 4 out of 5 since the place needs some repairs here and there including the bathroom but of course it’s not important if you choose to take out/ to go
Again overall I was very impressed in a good way and I highly recommend it

Been here three times & can say this is the closest thing you will get to a gyro in Greece. Must try the Greek gyro with everything on it! — pics are from these three separate occasions

We ordered the whole chicken to go, paired with garlic bread and rice. Charcoal Flame did not disappoint—the chicken was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and delicious. The sides complemented the meal well, making it a satisfying experience. Highly recommend for a tasty and convenient meal
