This was out first time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was chill. The chicken and sweet potato fries I ordered were good. My husband ordered the fried catfish and regular fries, he said it was good too. The calamari was too chewy so we did not eat too many of those as we did not care for them. Overall, not a bad place to catch a bite.

My experience at this restaurant was very enjoyable. The food I had was very tasty well seasoned. I had the fried cat fish and shrimp with fries.
The cocktails I tried were good my bartender Cherish’s customer service was phenomenal!

This was our first time experiencing a seafood boil restaurant while visiting the DC area, and it was absolutely amazing! I truly enjoyed the flavorful seafood boil with shrimp, crab, potatoes, and corn—it was seasoned perfectly and so satisfying. My husband loved the fried chicken wings with fries; they were crispy, fresh, and delicious. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the food was exceptional overall. Such a wonderful first experience—we would definitely come back again!

The food was percent PERFECTION the first visit (late evening hours around 7-8pm on a weekend) and even with the larger crowds service was IMPECCABLE!! but the second time around (noon lunchtime on a weekday) the waiter was a bit of a bumbling mess—although he was aiming to please and had an acceptable level of congeniality one would expect from a service industry employee. However the misunderstandings, mistakes and mishaps grew increasingly frustrating and I get the feeling that is why certain employees were chosen to staff the periods of maximum profitability and heavy customer traffic while others had to be restricted to staffing the least desirable, low traffic periods to avoid the slight customer dissatisfaction I experienced during my most recent visit.
Both times I and my partner chose fried oysters for our appetizer
The first time they were incredible, some of the best of had all year up to that point. The second go around the were also tasty but had WAY too much ground black pepper in the batter —and I LOVE black pepper. It nearly overpowered the overall dish!
The main course BOTH times were absolutely delicious. Crab cakes and sides the first visit and a delectable seafood boil which we chose a medium spiced garlic butter for its sauce. INCREDIBLE main courses both x’s!!!
The drinks the first visit were strong and stiff, but still drinkable. The second time around the drinks were strong as well—but tasted no different than drugstore rubbing alcohol. We even had to ask for empty cups and a side of sprite in order to dilute it!!
The interaction with the waitress the first time was natural, effortless, and felt much like meeting up with an old friend. The waiter the second time while professional and courteous —but that’s what it felt like someone trying to please you in order to profit from the interaction.

So I’d have to conclude your individual satisfaction of the experience here could very well depend on the actual days or time period you decide to pop in for a visit. Both visits were enjoyable and neither were terrible, but there was STILL a very noticeable difference.

Overall I loved it here and will definitely be back and highly recommend anyone who is a TRUE seafood lover to try it out.

Finally made it here. The food was good, hot and fresh. I had the fried shrimp, crab balls, and hush puppies. My friend had one of the boil bags. The fried shrimp and hush puppies were good. The crab balls were just ok. The seasoning was off. The boil was typical.

I finally decided to give The Crab Boat a try since the parking lot is always packed whenever I pass by on my way home. From the outside, it looks much larger than it actually is—inside, the space felt pretty cramped. The atmosphere was also very loud; it felt like we had to raise our voices just to hear each other across the table.

Service was a bit slow, with the waiter only coming by about every 20 minutes, so we waited a while for drink refills. In terms of food quality, I’d say Crafty Crab is a bit better, but the food here was still enjoyable. We ordered Combo #4, which came with two clusters of snow crab, one pound of shrimp, half a pound of clams, half a pound of smoked sausage, plus two corn cobs and two potatoes. We also tried the hush puppies and calamari as appetizers—both were quite good.

The biggest downside was how tough the crab legs were to crack, especially since no tools were provided to help with that, which would’ve been appreciated.

Despite some drawbacks, I’d still recommend giving The Crab Boat a try!

Went by here finally to try the food out. This place is always busy, so I figured it must be good. I was correct. Went on a Sunday evening it was not too busy. There were 6 of us, and we got seated right away. Our waitress was nice but not the best. Once our food came out, she was hard to find. We just needed old bay and crackers for the claws. The food came out hot and tasted great. All the orders were correct and cooked perfectly. We had 2 separate checks, but they got charged as one group with an added service fee. They put it on the menu, but don’t tell you up front. It was just on there. With a 38 dollar service fee, don’t expect a big additional tip on top of the bill. The price is a little high, but seafood is never a cheap option. I would give them 8 out of 10 stars. We stoped by and got 2 boils to go. Both were cooked and packaged correctly. All the food was great. I would give it 9 out of 10 stats this time.

I have not a negative thing to say about this place! You could smell the seasoning in the parking lot! The atmosphere is chill and welcoming. Our waitress was Cassie and she was highly knowledgeable of the menu and everything she suggested was delicious!! We were impressed with her attentiveness, as well as her vibrant and friendly personality. The food was made fresh and hot coming to our table and the flavor and spices were so good! Everything was 10/10!
