Izakaya Kumade in Palisades Park is a great spot for Japanese and Korean food.
The interior is beautiful, and the upstairs private stalls make it ideal for date night or small groups. The menu is extensive, so there’s plenty to choose from.
Standouts were the karaage chicken with cheese and corn, creamy bacon yaki soba, tuna tataki roll, crunch roll, and the assorted yakitori for variety.
Overall, a solid atmosphere with a lot of options to explore.

The Nagasaki Champon is our new favorite. My wife and I had a very pleasant Sunday dinner. Haven’t had a meal this good in a long time. We were supposed to have dinner here some few weeks ago but the Fort Lee-Pal Park traffic congestion gets really bad. Last time we were here was in 2021!!. Now we can’t wait to go back. We also had the Salmon Roll and Yakitori Chicken, Pork, Beef and Mushroom wrapped in Bacon.

I wish I can give this restaurant 100/10 stars!! From the food, to the staff, and the beautiful atmosphere everything about Kumade was absolutely incredible! Our server, Paul, was truly amazing and he gave us such great recommendations! Our favorite was the chicken teriyaki, fried dumplings and assorted skewers. I’d highly recommend everyone coming here, and I definitely will be back!

Had a wonderful late night dinner here with the fiancé. Service was friendly and attentive, food was great. Atmosphere and decor were modern and well taken care of. I only gave it 4/5 because when we were eating another group who had been sat a few tables away had a women who started crying hysterically. It’s no one’s fault! Just made it a little uncomfortable.

A must-visit place.All the dishes were delicious and arrived quickly, which we appreciated. Service was awesome, dishes come out with care and attention. It’s clear the kitchen prioritizes quality over speed, which we appreciated. I had a great dinner and will definitely come back.

I just discovered this place after returning from Japan so, im going to be abit more critical on the food.
We started with spicy crab meat, It was the imitation crab meat, which was to be expected for the price.
Then my girls had the corn cheese, it was pretty good.
Then the yakitori assortment came out, i thought this was the best dish of the entire dinner. We each took pieces from each type, the only ones I didnt have a chance to try was the beef. Everything else was pretty good and very flavorful. Just got to watch out for the tomato one, it exploded in your mouth and the juices were burning hot, wasn’t expecting that.
The next thing that came was the volcano and dragon roll. The volcano was really done well as it had real crab meat this time, which I was surprised with . The dragon roll was kind of soso. I didnt like the sushi rice as it was very sticky.
The next thing that came out was the sashimi assortment, we got a small as the kids didnt really help us with it. They only like the typical salmon and tuna,they ignore all the other whitefish. We also got the handroll to me it wasn’t anything to write home about.
The last thing was the wagyu beef sushi, I was really looking forward to this one and it came so late, right before we were all pretty stuffed. The same thing happened when we were in Japan and it was the best wagyu ever, I told my wife I would go back to Japan just for the waygu sushi…lol.
Ok so back to Jersey, this one was ok. It had more flavor of the burned sides and not enough beef flavor, also the ac was cranking so cold that this thing was already cold by the time it reached our table, it really killed it. I was really disappointed with it.
Overall the ambiance of the restaurant was nice, but the cold temp and high prices didnt hit the mark for me. For the price and 45 min drive… I wont be making the drive again. Our total bill including a 20% tip was about $290

We used to always order from Izakaya Kumade through Uber Eats, but we finally decided to visit in person — and it was 100% worth it. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance of the place made the entire experience unforgettable. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and tasted amazing. It’s the kind of place where every detail is taken care of. Truly a 10/10 every single time

The space is well-separated, making it a great place to meet and chat with friends. The highball felt a bit light on alcohol, but it was just right. The Ilpoom Jinro setup was perfect . The menu items were well-balanced and easy to enjoy with drinks.

Wonderful and amazing! The dining experience is private and intimate. Beautifully decorated In a gorgeous building. The plates are plentiful and extravagant and everything tastes amazing!!! To top it all off the service was really top notch. With every plate you could taste the freshness and each item is seasoned to perfection. I really enjoyed everything about this visit and i can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic spot to have some company. They have their own parking lot with about 20 spots. Highly recommend the chicken karage, it was juicy and tender. The salmon was fresh. One critique would be how the salmon lovers roll didn’t look like the pictures in the menu, it was missing the roe and toppings on top.
