Initially , we were hesitant to try the restaurant, but our hotel was situated close to the restaurant so we just decided to try it.
Their food was exceptionally good with ample variety of food dishes. The staff was good and service was prompt. The interior was bit old but organized in good way. We tried Pad Thai and chicken skewers. The taste was authentic and well presented.
If we get chance again, definitely we will try their food again.

Terrible Experience – Avoid This Place!
If I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands down the WORST dining experience I’ve ever had.
1. Poor Service: We ordered just two main dishes for four people (clearly mentioned we were sharing while ordering). Yet, the clueless waitress kept asking if we needed big plates to share. How else were we supposed to eat? Isn’t that common sense?
2. Soup Disaster: Ordered a main-sized soup, and it arrived cold. When I asked for a candle to keep it warm (as most decent Thai restaurants do), they said they don’t provide candles.
3. Lack of Basics: They brought us the soup without bowls. When we asked for them, the response was, “Oh, do you need bowls? Fine, I’ll get them.” Excuse me? That’s not a favor; it’s basic service!
4. Horrible Food: The taste of the food was abysmal. We tried the “Spicy Girl” tofu dish, and it was disgusting—absolutely inedible.
5. Overall Experience: The food and service were equally terrible. We’ve dined at Thai Chef branches in Auckland (when it was open) and Christchurch, and they were fantastic. This New Plymouth branch is an absolute disgrace.
If you’re local and don’t know better, maybe you’ll tolerate it. But as a tourist, I strongly recommend staying away. It’s nothing like the high-quality experience you’d expect from a Thai Chef restaurant.

This is one of the places where I receive #happiness. Sensational Thai food that never fails to make me happy, it’s fresh, flamboyant and zesty! We love the fragrant herbs and the seafood. Thai food fused with New Zealand wine. We love the asian #generousity and the #amazing #people. The decor is great, the prices are great and they do takeaway orders to.

Authentic and beautiful interior. Huge restaurant and big menus, lots to choose from! Pad Thai we got was too salty, but when we told the waitress, she got a new batch made for us which tasted a lot better! Friendly service. Recommended if you feel like Asian food, or going out for dinner in a large group and want to share.
