About 5-7 minutes after we have finished ordering, waitress comes by with menus. We tell her we already ordered and order drinks (unavailable on the online menu).
Things started going wrong from there. Appetizer came out in a decent time but it wouldn’t be until almost 45-60 minutes later that we would get the last of our food.
First, we ordered two tonkatsu ramen with toppings on the side. When the first order came out, the toppings were in the bowl. No biggy, it happens. Then the second bowl comes out, and it’s Wagyu Ramen, not tonkatsu. After tasting (to confirm) we informed the waitress that it was not what we ordered. Come to find out it was the table next to ours which they promptly took over to their table. We had to stop them and tell them, hey we tasted that, you probably don’t want to serve it to them.
After finally getting the right orders, my order of Katsu and Curry (pork style) came. Normally, one puts rice on a plate with curry on the side and the katsu next to it. This was a molded bowl of rice, katsu, and then a small portion of curry on the far side of the plate (and no spoon). That’s not the way curry is presented, but no big deal. Potatoes were still a little hard in the middle and overall I wasn’t impressed with their version of curry.
For the life of me, I don’t know why it took almost an hour for two bowls of ramen, a salmon teriyaki bento, and a katsu and curry dish.
Staff was friendly but seemed confused with the table order mix up. Nothing was offered for the mix up nor the extended wait for food. In the end, was not happy with the price, the food, and the wait, will not return.
We tried Ichigo Sushi & Teriyaki and were genuinely impressed. We ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen, Ichigo Ramen, and Takoyaki — everything was excellent. The broths were rich and flavorful, the noodles cooked perfectly, and the takoyaki had that soft, melty center with great seasoning. The service was just as outstanding as the food — warm, attentive, and fast. Overall, a fantastic spot that delivers both quality and hospitality. Highly recommend!
I had the Sashimi Combo A which comes with 8 pieces of sashimi of the chefs assortment.
It was well plated and neatly sliced.
I also had the Takoyaki and it was tasty, it had a good amount of bonito flakes, and sauce. Additionally came with 6 balls when ordered.
Upon walking in, we were greeted promptly by a lady, who I assume could have been the manager or owner given the lack of servers.
The service throughout our visit was warm and polite, and did not feel rushed nor was it too slow. We were provided the essential dining supplies and refills without any need to ask for anything extra. I appreciated that when I asked for scallions with my yellowtail roll, she wanted to further clarify if it was rolled in or sprinkled on top. It was a good eye for detail.
We ordered the hawaiian and izakaya roll along with a couple simple maki rolls on the side. The food came out quickly in my standards (approx. 15 mins) given the intricacy of the speciality rolls and how well they were done.
I was impressed by the freshness and well balanced proportions of ingredients within the roll itself in terms of flavor. The hawaiian was refreshing while the izakaya was more indulgently savory. The texture of the rice was also perfectly sticky, but not mushy.
The simplified cultural aesthetic they had created a peacefully comfortable atmosphere. Soft instrumental music was played in the background. (We went for early dinner to avoid others)
We would definitely come back again if we were ever in the area again since it was an overall lovely experience for a lowkey date 🙂
