Small burger joint just off highway 89. It has pale ale and wine, if you choose to indulge. I enjoyed the HEX ipa, and like 40 corn dogs because I’m traveling by foot and bicycle to see Mt Shasta. The last town with good restaurant/hot food was Burney, CA. So, around 50 miles away. If your driving and taking i5 then there’s other options but I prefer the quiet places. This was a really peaceful and FLAVORFUL experience. I got the Elk burger (it’s beef) and fries with that HEX ipa. It’s cozy, and familiar, even if it’s your first time. Will return next time I do this pilgrimage.

Floyd has been serving the good people of McCloud for years and we LOVE HIM FOR IT!!!
I come here anytime my man Richy goes for one of his hunting or fishing trips. Food is delish esp the extra long sausage . I always get the Crissy special: banana frosty with a Modelo. My man is classier so he gets choc frosty with Sierra Nevada. My girlfriend Carrie gets the Carmel sake so that’s another fave!
Stepping into Floyd’s is like a time machine to your fave old diner. No fuss no frills, just comfy seats, cold bears, and Elk burger and fries that’ll have to leaping for joy. Floyd keeps it delish and nutrish!

Wow, what a fantastic find! Floyd’s Frosty is worth the trip. Their elk burgers are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and they pair perfectly with the burgers. I tried the pumpkin pie milkshake, which was the perfect seasonal treat. The flavor was rich and creamy, and it was the ideal ending to my meal. This place was recommended to me by the legendary Dozer Dave, and I highly recommend stopping here for lunch as well.

Floyd’s Frosty — A Hometown Classic with Heart
If you’re anywhere near mccloud and don’t stop at Floyd’s Frosty, you’re missing out on the kind of place that makes a hometown feel like home.
The burgers? Always on point. Fresh ingredients, cooked just right, never greasy, and full of flavor. It’s not fancy — it’s better. You can taste the care that goes into every bite. The fries are always hot and crisp, and don’t even get me started on the milkshakes. Heaven.
But the real reason people keep coming back is Floyd himself. He’s the soul of this place. Small-town charm through and through. He’ll treat you like family, serve you with a smile, and probably make you laugh while he’s at it. Great conversation, good energy, just a downright good human.
Floyd’s Frosty isn’t trying to be some big chain or trendy joint — and that’s exactly what makes it special. It’s a little slice of real, simple, delicious.

Wow that cheeseburger was extremely delicious and super fulfilling! I felt nice and full for at least 4 hours after without any heavy after feeling! And omg fries was delicious too! You can even see a peak of mount Shasta! If you are coming after the hike I recommend it, it was super great!

We’ve been here lots of times over the years. The hamburgers are delicious! They use fresh meat on a brioche bun; also friendly atmosphere.

Stopped by and grabbed lunch as we were passing through. I had a grilled ham and cheese. The bread was nice and thick and cooked just right. Could have used more cheese but was still very good. Fries are great and the shake was as well.
