We were over from Ga visiting a local winery and came across Marie’s on the way into town. It’s hard to find good BBQ in our area so we’re always on the lookout and got excited as we drove by. After wine we came back for dinner and loved it. A lot of good choices on the menu, great sides, and really good house sauces. The service was good, staff was friendly, the food came out quick and everything was delicious and well made. Prices are really good for the quality and serving size. I wish there were more places like this closer to home. Happy we found it!

Stopped on our way to Myrtle Beach and loved what Marie’s offered. The pulled pork was tender with just a hint of smoke flavor. Have it with the house sauce, which is a well-balanced brown sauce that adds just the right amount of spice without masking the meat flavor. My wife and child got potato babies (seasoned potato wedges) topped with cheese then loaded with chicken and pork, respectfully. Even with adding sauce, the potato babies stayed crispy outside and soft inside. Needless to say we didn’t have any leftovers.
Since we were there right when the doors opened, I could see someone frosting red velvet cake in the back. The desserts were set out while we ate but at 10am I didn’t need any sweets. I would definitely go for one another time and will hit Marie’s up again next time I pass by Heflin.

We met up with an old high school friend here. The Brunswick stew is awesome. Good atmosphere. Nice people. Good unique desserts, cream horns, fresh made with both cream and chocolate filling. Will stop in again!

Fantastic ribs and brisket was good but chopped rather than served in slices. Crispy onion rings. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Plastic plates and utensils, but clean and orderly.

I always enjoy the BBQ from Marie’s BBQ House. I’ve had the pork loaded baked potato, the spare rib plate. The sides are flavorful also. I’m not a local, but do stop in when passing through.

Bland, flavorless, and overpriced. I was not impressed. Old, stale fries, and burned chicken tenders. It is impressive how they obtained a 4.5 star rating with little to no quality or quantity. The hostess / waitresses were very attentive and nice. Will not be returning due to the experience I had with I’ll impressed

I’ve eaten there a few times when passing through the area – just the tiger dogs with chili – they’re OK for the price. Everything else I’ve tried has not been good. They don’t keep the fryers hot enough and the fries come out soft and greasy and disgusting. Went Tuesday Oct 7 at 7PM – sign on the front door says open til 8 but they were locked up tight. If a business cannot do something so simple as be open when they say they will be how do they prevent food poisoning? I won’t bother trying to go back now that I know it could be my time, and gas, etc wasted!
