HIGHLY recommend! One of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Truly farm to table- I met one of their farmers there. Trish the owner is the real deal. Can’t wait to go back next time we are in town!

Fat Man Reviews
The Fat Man tries to find hidden gems, holes in the walls, or any small mom-and-pop establishment with good food. While traveling in northern Kentucky, the Fat Man stumbled upon one of these places, The Farmstand Market & Cafe. Farmstand offers comfort food with a farm-to-table focus served in a cozy space with a bar and attached market.

We started with the Goetta Hanky Panky Dip. This was made with cheesy goetta, bagel chips, pumpernickel bread, and light rye served in a cast iron skillet. The dip had a good sausage flavor with salt and some light spice while being cheesy, creamy, and full of flavor. The bagel chips were very crispy but were not served warm. The pumpernickel and rye were dry. Each complimented the dip, adding texture to the bite.

My wife had the Reuben Sandwich. This sandwich came with sliced corned beef, homemade Thousand Island, pickled pig sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on light rye with bacon ranch pasta salad. The pasta salad was cooked spot on while also being creamy. The bacon added crunch and saltiness to the salad. The rye had a great toast, and the Thousand Island was tangy and creamy. The pastrami was dry but had a good salty flavor. The sauerkraut was crunchy and had a good sour flavor cutting through the salty meat and the sweet dressing. The cheese was gooey and nutty and added flavor to each bite.

I sampled the French dip sandwich and Mulligatawny soup. This was prepared with a sliced top round with provolone on a French roll. The soup was prepared with rice, chicken, carrots, onions, celery, lentils and spices. The chicken was very tender, the rice was cooked well, and the vegetables added texture to the rice. The soup was flavorful, had a wonderful aroma, and had a good salt content. The top round was thin and offered good flavor and chew. The roll was fresh and had a good chew paired with the ooey and gooey cheese with an excellent buttery flavor. The au jus had good flavor but was slightly salty, which overpowered it.

Farmstand offers grilled cheeses, hot sandwiches, burgers, salads, appetizers, soups and main entrees. They also serve beer and have a full bar. The servers were pleasant and knowledgeable. The Fat Man says that The Farmstand Market & Cafe is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin.

The farmstand market and cafe is delicious!!! Every single time I’ve been here the food is to die for. Farm to table meals reasonably priced, what more can you ask for?! Laura was our waitress and she was awesome! We had such a great conversation and she gave us great recommendations on the menu. Clearly, I couldn’t get a picture of my peach hot honey cheesecake before I ate half of it. Seriously go check this place out. It’s a hidden gem that you will want to visit on a weekly basis!

10 out of 10 would recommend! Went on a Tuesday night, it was nice and quiet. Food was excellent and the service (Laura G) was outstanding! The NY Strip was perfectly cooked and the Philly Steak and Cheese was delicious!

I have eatten here on many occasions, some were good, others not so good. My most recent visit was disappointing. I love the deviled eggs, however this time the horseradish-bacon egg had very little filling, it had no flavor and the bacon was as hard as bacos. Not pleasant. I ordered a salad with salmon. When I asked if it came with bread, the server said, “no, but it is a very large salad and will fill you up”. The salad was served in a small soup bowl, it had olives, which I am allergic to, and a few large slices of cucumber and carrots. The salmon was the smallest portion I have ever seen served at a restaurant. Being generous here with my guess of the size, it was approx 1 in by 4 in. I have worked in the restaurant industry and would never have let this leave the kitchen, especially for the outrageous price. I ordered a “specialty drink” with cucumber vodka. It was $10 and watered down. My guest’s meal was just as disappointing, so much so that she barely ate half of her sandwich! We both left HUNGRY! We dined at 8:00 on a Wednesday night. We felt rushed to leave at 8:45. My bill was $30.50 for poor service, poor food and an extremely poor atmosphere. I was wish I could say that we’ll be back, but that’s a longshot! Oh, did I mention the extremely large spider web (with spider) hanging down directly over the dirty toilet?!? I mentioned it to the server and thought she’d go directly in to kill the spider. Instead, she replied, “oh great, it’s my night to clean it”. No apology offered. Nope. Won’t. Be. Back.

I have never had a bad experience here. The food is always fantastic, above and beyond my expectations both in quality and presentation. Service has always been friendly and prompt, but this isn’t a fast food joint so be prepared to hang out a few minutes while your food is prepared. I’m not exaggerating when I say everything I’ve ever ordered has been delicious, but their preparations of meat and poultry has particularly impressed me several times. Prime rib? Might be the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly crispy roasted duck breast? Had it here. Lamb Pierogi? Seriously.

Can’t recommend them highly enough, definitely check them out if you’re in the neighborhood!

Good entrees and portion sizes. Food is freshly made. Nice variety and fair prices. Solid choice if you live in Northern, KY. I wish my soup was served with a 2nd cracker…it looked lonely (skimpy?) on the plate!

Tonight was our first time going. We didn’t have reservations and we were seated within 10 minutes. The waitress and host were absolutely amazing. The food…the food was fantastic. Wife ordered filet mignon, son had the beast burger, I had the chicken and mushroom pasta. Then came the dessert…3 different cakes and they were all delicious. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning.

We found The Farmstand a year ago when we were visiting the area…we were intrigued by the menu! But more than that, we always want to support local eateries when we travel. We were NOT disappointed at all!!! The burgers are amazing!!! PLUS, we have dietary challenges in the family and the staff were more than willing to talk with us about ingredients and provide what we needed. When we were back in the area a couple months later, we went to The Farmstand again and again had a fantastic meal. When we decided to go back to the area this month, the entire family said we HAD to make sure we made The Farmstand one of our meal stops. Y’all…it’s sooo good!
