The show for us. If you’re in the area I would highly recommend you stopping and checking out Seed Shack.
menu was unique yet familiar, ingredients so fresh and packed with incredible flavor in every bite, quantities and prices are great as well.
staff is friendly and attentive
It is worth the drive out to Mesa, trust me
There is plenty of free parking available, which is definitely a plus.
The service was okay; however, there was one detail that significantly affected our experience. While we were eating, they burned sage inside the restaurant. The smell is very strong and lingers in your hair and clothes, which felt quite uncomfortable and inconsiderate, especially while dining.
Overall, good food and generous portions, but that sensory detail took away from the overall experience.
I am posting this to give some well deserved admiration to a delicious vegan spot that doesn’t get nearly enough praise. I have been a patron of Seed Shack for about 4-5 years now and I get the same meal every time because of how amazing it is. I have tried other menu items and loved them, however nothing compares to a comfort favorite.
Not only is their food always spectacular, the vibe of the restaurant is cozy and welcoming. The people/ owners are some of the friendliest and most accommodating beings I have ever met. My last and final point is the price! Not often can my partner and I go to dinner and spend under $50 before tip.
Every time we go to Seed Shack we get everything our hearts desire and it is around $40 for adequate portions.
I don’t know about you but seriously Seed Shack is one of my favorite places to frequent and I rarely see anyone posting about it. I just wanted to shout them out and say I love you guys, keep up the wonderful work.
Pictured is the buffalo ranch chicken sandwich but naked style on salad, fries, raspberry herbal tea and Thai tea.
My partner gets the same sandwich just in its original form.
We were in the area and wanting a healthy option. We purposely ordered multiple items so we could get a feel for the menu.
Positives:
1. The employees were very gracious, attentive, and helpful.
2. Everything was full of flavor, filling and not “obviously” vegan-tasting. (You could take a non-vegan here and they would not be disappointed).
3. The portion sizes were good relative to the price.
Negatives:
1. The gluten free options were not readily identified on the menu. I didn’t take a star away for this because the staff was very aware of what had gluten and was able to assist.
What we ate:
1. Black bean burger – We went for no bun for two reasons. Prior reviews mentioned the bun dwarfing the burger and I am personally particular about GF buns. We added avocado and the flora of the hummus, burger and avocado married well together. So much flavor was packed in that patty. It was absolutely delicious. I think a bun would have actually detracted from the flavors being front and center!
2. Chai tea – It had a different taste than I’m used to because of the coconut milk, but I was really tasty. Be sure to stir well so you have a balanced drink. It was refreshing.
3. Arnold Palmer – It was less sweet than I’m used to having in an Arnold Palmer. It tasted more like water with some hints of tea and lemon. It was fresh but not distinctively sweet. It was OK, but I would likely not get it again.
4. Buffalo cauliflower nachos – This was so delicious!!!! I’m not a fan of very spicy buffalo sauce but this was perfect with the level of spiciness. I have to figure out how to make these because it was truly so delicious I couldn’t stop eating it. I even think I would get extra jalapeños next time. I’ve never had anything that tasted like this before but it was amazing!
5. Chickpea Caesar salad – This was so good. I don’t know how they got chickpeas to taste better than croutons, but I could eat this salad every day! It was flavorful and so tasty.
We were super impressed with all the food and will certainly be back!
