Exquisite food, service and ambience! This was our first time at a Persian restaurant but will not be the last. The Mirza Ghasemi appetizer was delicious. It tasted like it took hours to prepare, the smokiness from grilled eggplant was divine. Since we don’t eat lamb we ordered the only 3 chicken entrees on the menu and all were delicious. The meat was the juiciest I have ever tasted, it cut like butter and fell off the bone. There are no vegetarian entrees but plenty of vegetarian appetizers to choose from. Based on other reviews, we ordered the pistachio cake and that was excellent as well, though I liked the carrot cake loaded with walnuts better. Highly recommend. A note of caution though, they have limited seating so if you are going there on a weekend, better to have a reservation.

While passing through Albany on a day trip, my wife and I decided to stop at Termeh Persian Restaurant. We’ve eaten at many Persian restaurants over the years, including plenty in cities like Toronto, so our expectations were high. We were both genuinely impressed — the food was incredibly authentic and the quality was outstanding.

The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with a warm, cozy atmosphere that makes you want to linger. Everything we ordered tasted fresh, and even the Pistachio Milk Cake is made in-house. The Koobideh Kabob was excellent, and the Fillet Kabob was just as good. If you’re trying to decide, the Sultani Kabob gives you both — highly recommended. We ended our meal with that amazing cake and a great authentic and perfectly brewed Persian tea.

We’ll definitely be back!

Termeh – A Hidden Gem in Schenectady, NY (near Albany)
A cozy, family-owned Persian restaurant serving freshly made dishes with authentic flavor and top-notch quality.

We loved the kabobs and the lamb shank – both cooked perfectly and full of flavor. But the real star of the night was the pistachio cake – hands down the best cake I’ve had in the U.S. The unique taste, rich pistachio flavor, and amazing quality made it unforgettable.

The staff were incredibly kind, and the whole experience was absolutely worth the extra drive. If you’re anywhere near Upstate New York, this place is a must-visit. Totally recommend!

Delicious foods and a wonderful atmosphere! This place truly has the warm feel of a traditional Persian restaurant. We especially loved the kebabs and ghorme sabzi both were rich in flavor. Don’t leave without trying the pistachio cake, it’s absolutely worth it.

We visited this restaurant for the first time and had a great experience. We ordered the mixed appetizer platter, Ghormeh Sabzi, kebabs, and all the desserts available – everything was fresh and delicious. It’s a cozy, small one-room place with space for a large group and simple Persian-style decor. Clean, welcoming, and definitely worth a visit. We’ll be coming back many times.

Authentic delicious Persian food! I’m from downstate and I’m used to a lot of the Persian cuisine offerings down there. Termeh has immediately rocketed to the top of my list for Persian food! Literally giving Ravagh a run for its money! Service is quick polite and friendly. Calm music in the background along with some very nice decor.

We recently ordered food from this restaurant for a gathering, and it absolutely exceeded every expectation. The presentation was beautiful, the flavors were rich and authentic, and the overall quality was outstanding. The koobideh was truly exceptional. It tasted just like the real koobideh you get in Iran; perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of authentic flavor. The “kashk o bademjoon” was also incredibly delicious.
If you’re looking for genuine Persian cuisine that delivers both quality and authenticity, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommended!!
