Sunshine Tomato is such a gem to have in town. The staff is always friendly and the food is consistently delicious. The pizzas are fantastic but the salads and wings are easily the best I’ve ever had. The salads are packed with the freshest ingredients with perfectly paired dressings. There is nowhere else we consider getting wings for game day, especially the General Tso’s. Support this incredible local small business and their staff who clearly pour their hearts into each meal.

We went there for the first time and its super bright! Nice decor and warm friendly environment! It is differently kid friendly! My daughter had fun drawing on the chalkboard. We took out but you definitely can dine in.

This pizza is straight fire. I would eat it at least once a week, if I could. The ingredients are fresh and the pizza dough smells great. The pepperoni and sausage pizza is to die for, as is the margherita pizza. The servers and staff are very friendly. On Fridays, there is live music. This restaurant is one of the go-to spots for Norfolk and is a good place to get super-high quality pizza and chill.

My first meal here was the caprese sandwich, which I liked a lot. I then tried a pizza, I don’t remember now if it was plain cheese or pepperoni. I was underwhelmed, the reason being I thought it needed more tomato sauce. It was a long time before I gave the place another try but, in a pinch and craving pizza, I went back a month ago. I ordered the pepperoni and sausage pizza that includes red peppers and onions. At the first bite, I noted how little tomato sauce there was but, after the second bite, that didn’t matter to me. As noted in other reviews, the ingredients at Sunshine Tomato are fresh and the crust is like something you’ll find in NYC. I usually don’t eat the outer edge of pizza crust but I eat it all here. I’ve been back to Sunshine Tomato three times in the last three weeks and I look forward to trying one of their other specialty pizzas if I ever grow tired of their pepperoni and sausage one. As an added bonus, I can have a draft beer while waiting for my order.

My husband ordered 2 cheese pizzas from here and I was very pleasantly surprised. Not the typical boring Greek pizza that is all over the place in this area. This pizza is goooooood with lots of flavor. Prices are high but the 2 for $20 cheese pizza deal is good.

1st timers – Went in the evening for a couple of slices, they were out of them. Ordered a whole pizza, Peach and bacon special pizza. Was delicious! The edge crust was exactly like we like, poofy, a little crisp on the outside and soft bread on the inside. The pizza had thin peach slices, mozzarella, ricotta, basil, bacon and honey. Was so good!!
Didn’t give an overall of 5 stars due to the price and size. No size offering, so took what was made and it was 6 slices, I would guess maybe 10″ diameter, and just over $18. Would I go back? Not regularly, but maybe as a special treat when we are in the area, and again it is only because of size/cost ratio.
