This is one of the few places I will go, belly up to the bar all by myself and feel perfectly safe and comfortable. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the food is phenomenal! LOVE IT HERE!!

Had an amazing experience at Carlos & Carlos in downtown Arlington Heights! The chef prepared a personal dish that was incredible in every flavor and aroma. Don’t miss the liquor cart! Finished with their homemade tiramisu and excellent service—felt warmly appreciated the whole time. Highly recommend stopping by for dinner!

Very blend food. Service was good. There was not even enough salt in the food we ordered. Wine selection was good.

Food was ok, pasta dishes better than other food. Tiramisu lacked mascarpone, it tastes like whipcream…service was obnoxious – asking us for order every 2 minutes – at least 5 people would rotate and stop by asking if ready to order – very annoying, breaking up a conversation. On the bill, prices were higher then on the menu for couple items and they charged tip on after tax total, so you are supposed to pay tip on taxes.

Wonderful gem in downtown Arlington heights. Cute corner by the fountain. Lots of life. Excellent margaritas, salmon and ribeye!!! Special birthday desert arrived too! Service was impeccable!

I’m not sure how this restaurant has a total rating of 4.4 but after this past Saturday night, I feel like it should be -1 out of 5 at most.
Food was bad, only good items that were decent were the complimentary bread and the black pasta. Food took 1.5 hrs which is unacceptable for a $$ restaurant. Maybe if it was higher end and a Michelin star, I can understand a little. I’ve been to many Michelin and omakase restaurants, and the service and food are always superb. The lamb chops were horrendously butchered. We asked for medium rare and it came out well-done. First time, I experienced anything above medium rare for lamb chops. It was way too chewy. Veal porterhouse was slightly better, it was cooked medium rare. However, it could have been juicier, a little dry in some spots. The pasta with scampi was way too salty.
Service was nonexistent. Water refilled once. After they dropped off the food, they never came back to ask how our food was. We didn’t really know who was our waitress or waiter was because it was that terrible. After they finally cleared our plates, they had the audacity to ask if we wanted dessert. I would highly recommend skipping this restaurant if you’re in the area or just grab pizza nearby. This place is garbage. Oh btw they were out of dinner plates, so they gave us 3 tiny plates.

I love Carlos and Carlos and it is now my FAVORITE restaurant. The first time we came they reseated us three times to make sure the table and location was perfect for us and that we would be seated somewhere quiet where we could talk. I have dietary restrictions and they abide by them and adjust the dishes for me. They are extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu and suggest items for us as well as sharing new menu items coming soon. This place is the place to go if you want pristine customer service and amazing Italian cuisine. Also ask to be seated in Herman’s section! He is the best waiter and makes sure your experience is perfect every-time. I cannot rave enough about this place just go experience it for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent Italian food. Service is quick and efficient. This place is distinguished by its authenticity. No bar food here, just a full range of Italian dishes designed to satisfy every palate. One odd thing..only time I have had a wedge salad with a vinaigrette dressing (not bad, but ask for blue cheese). The deserts are something else…leave room because they are made on site and delicious. I was so full I just ordered Tiramisu to go It looked so tasty.

Went here with the wife after looking up restaurants in downtown Arlington Heights and this place was awesome. We went at 7:30 on a Friday night and it was pretty packed. We started off trying our best not to eat the tapenade that came with the bread and failing. Then we had the mussels and clams appetizer which was the bomb. We could have just drank that sauce by itself. Then my wife got the black pasta, and I got the pasta with short rib. Both pastas were super delicious but the black pasta took the cake. The sauce was so decadent it was loaded with seafood. We finished off with the creme brûlée which comes topped with berries. Overall a great experience and we will be coming back.
