Searching for The Spanked Monkey. Google recommends The Spanked Puppy. Came to investigate. Ordered the Saturday Brunch menu. Steak & Egg. Choices are NY Sirloin or Ribeye. I asked the waitress if they had Kobe or Wagyu. I also ask instead of the RibEye I m just gonna the Rib instead. Had my steak cooked medium and the fresh farm eggs over easy. Nice pairing with my local favorite Fiddlehead IPA . ️ ️

Cool name, good menu, couldn’t resist and its highest rated in our area of staying. Takeout order about 40 min ago. French dip, steaks and cheese, 6 buffalo wings and a kids cheeseburger. Flavor of the French dip, great except there was no cheese on it. It could’ve used another ounce of meat and toasted bread, but it was fresh and flavorful. I forgive you for the cheese you forgot. My son likes his burger, I low key want a bite- it looks really good for a kids burger. Bf says the steak and cheese needed a toast too, meat and veggies are good on it. Fries are really crispy! Wings need more sauce and were a tiny dry or not super fresh…Would return for a dine in and drinks.

I recently visited The Spanked Puppy, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfying. I ordered the clam strip basket, which, despite my high hopes, turned out to be quite underwhelming. The clam strips were overcooked and lacked flavor, leaving me wanting something more substantial.
Additionally, I opted for sweet potato fries, which came with an upcharge. To my dismay, instead of a generous serving, I received a meager portion of about 20 French fries. It felt like a lack of value for the price I was paying.
Overall, my experience at The Spanked Puppy was disappointing. The food failed to meet expectations, and the small portion sizes, especially for a side, left me feeling shortchanged. I hope they can improve, but I doubt I’ll be returning anytime soon.

We stopped by yesterday Oct 3 2025 specifically because we had our dog with us. Outdoor seating was great. Food was good. Apple pie as good as my momma’s. Went to Stowe Oct 4 and hubs said let’s go back to the place we were yesterday. Got to the patio, different waitress asked if dog was a service dog. He is not. She said he couldn’t be back there. I said yesterday wasn’t a problem and she wasn’t pleasant when she said they were wrong yesterday. So only take your service dog. We will find somewhere else to spend our money.

BEST prime rib I’ve EVER had!!!
No kidding! Who would’ve thought! Seriously; most tender end cut prime rib ever!
Friday night menu has prime rib! Every bit was tender. I prefer end cut when available and complimented first our waitress about the meal and then the owner came over.
Compliments are earned and as a small restaurant attached to a bar, everyone should know they do roast beef very well!!
The live band just started (6pm). Great musicians and songs. Mix of country; jazz and (not hard) rock. Awesome.

Saturday and Sunday they do an amazing breakfast and everyone is so kind. The food is absolutely out of this world. They have an outside huge deck where people can sit and eat. It’s been a great summer. Eating every Sunday here. We know all the servers and the servers all know us by name. It’s a real family atmosphere.

The Puppy is a local neighborhood bar with great staff, food, and atmosphere. The staff are attentive and will always take care of you! The food is remarkable, with large portions and wonderful flavor. The atmosphere is as good as it gets with the indoor space having a large U-shaped bar but the star of the show is The Outback. The Outback transforms this bar into an outdoor oasis where you can spend all day listening to live music on the newly renovated stage!

Very old school, neighborhood place, bordering on a dive. Loud bar crowd. Onion rings were good. Tuna melt was just ok,, but nothing to write home about! The portions were large. I was able to take half of my sandwich home. Our waitress was very good! I would give her 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The four other ladies I went with love it. They go often on occasion for lunch and brunch. Doubtful I would come again.
