Such a hidden gem! We’re just visiting for the weekend and are so glad we found this place. Our waitress was incredibly kind, welcoming, and very friendly. She made the whole experience even better. The food was amazing, but the fries deserve a special shoutout… hands down the best fries I’ve ever tasted. Everything exceeded expectations, and if we lived here we would be regulars!

A hidden gem near smugglers notch! Open later than some of its peers, this is just a short drive away from the mountain. There’s plenty of seating at the bar and in the dining room, but I would recommend calling for a reservation if you’re here on a high traffic night.

There’s a great selection of beers on tap and in cans, as well as cocktails. The food is excellent – my burger was just right, and we had a salad that was delicious as well.

Come for the food, stay for the vibes.

Martell’s is the closest restaurant to the Smuggler’s Notch Resort. We first came here for a Sunday brunch. The service was good and food was excellent. The home fries were actually fried! Drinks were served in mason jars.
We liked it so much that we came back for dinner later in the week. While the food was still good and the portion was very generous, the service was quite slow. We waited for an hour between our appetizers and the main courses.
Overall, it is still a good restaurant as an alternative to the restaurants at the resort. The price is very reasonable too.

Martell’s at the Red Fox is a true hidden gem. I’ve been coming to Smugglers’ Notch for over 25 years, and this is hands down my favorite place to eat. The food is consistently delicious, and the cozy atmosphere perfectly captures that classic, picturesque Vermont feel.

Matt Martell, the owner, is incredibly welcoming, courteous, and just an all-around great guy. Whether I’m stopping in with a group of college buddies or coming for a meal with my girlfriend, he always makes you feel right at home and talks to you like he’s known you for years.

I genuinely go out of my way to get lunch or dinner here. It’s leagues ahead of anything you’ll find at the resort, and the pricing is more than fair for the quality. If you’re in the area, this place is a must.

Martell’s at the Red Fox is a hidden gem in Jeffersonville, Vermont, just a stone’s throw away from Smugglers’ Notch Resort.

Our dining experience there was absolutely amazing!

We started with the Pulled Pork Tacos as an appetizer. The soft tacos, filled with tender pulled pork, cheddar cheese, and fresh cilantro, were the perfect way to kick off our meal.

For the main courses, I went with the Grilled Beef Steak Tips. They were marinated in a delicious maple teriyaki glaze and served with grilled pineapple, brown rice, and sautéed broccolini with red peppers. It was a perfect blend of savory and sweet. My wife couldn’t stop raving about the Special of the Day, Rosa Shrimp Pasta. It had pan-seared shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and red peppers in a heavenly lemon butter and white wine garlic sauce over spinach and pasta. She was in heaven!

To finish, we treated ourselves to the Brownie à la Mode. The warm, gooey brownie paired with creamy vanilla ice cream was the perfect way to end our meal.

The cozy atmosphere, friendly service from our waitress, and the restaurant’s close proximity to our resort made this a truly memorable dining experience.

We highly recommend Martell’s at the Red Fox for anyone looking for great food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere in Jeffersonville.

Friendly and excellent service, the food and drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was great. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you’re in the area and hungry, and my wife and I plan on returning again.

My mom, sister, niece and I stopped in for a late lunch while travelling thru (Stowe, VT to Boston, ME). Loved the bldg, the workers, the food. Set up for indoor and outdoor music. Looked like a cool place to sit and chill with some good tunes.
Food was great! Large portions. Nice and hot.

Overall a good experience. Good pub feel with a warm atmosphere. Food is ok, I would steer in the direction of the traditional tavern/pub style food (I had a Reuben sandwich). Everything looks like it’s house made. Bartender was friendly and patrons a mix of locals and visitors.

The food was good I liked the apple in the sandwich I would say it was above average but not much more for the price of a sandwich. I did really like the jalapeños dip with the chips that is worth getting for your app. Overall it was good service and food but again for those two things and 2 beers for right 40ish dollars seems a bit high for me

Was in the mood for steak, so came here for the first time (new to the area). I got the bistro cut and my wife the steak tips. Both of the cuts – along with all the sides – were absolutely delicious. Drink selection is very good as well. Staff is fast, friendly and efficient.
