A Stunning Historical Venue. The Lobster walked up to the table and introduced itself it was so fresh!

Exceptionally pleasant lunch service. Very well chosen wine menu. Unpretentious top quality food.

Everyone in Tenby has been so friendly and welcoming. We can’t wait to come back.

This was a perfect final afternoon in the Sun.

We had an outstanding dinner here. The muscles were so tasty. My steak was perfectly cooked to order and of the highest quality. The service was excellent and very kind. The restaurant interior was so comfortable and we loved having a table by the fireplace. Top restaurant in Tenby.

This place was a real gem! I spent the month of Sept traveling around the UK and Ireland and happened to be in Tenby on my 40th birthday, so wanted to take myself out to dinner. I was looking for a relaxed vibe but with good food that felt worthy of a “birthday dinner,” even though I was traveling solo. I really lucked out with this place! The owner was there and his son was tending bar and I could have talked to them all night. So friendly and fun! The woman who brought my food and took my order was so attentive and accommodating even though I was eating downstairs instead of in the main dining area (upstairs). Excellent service!! I ended up chatting with a lovely couple with an adorable dog all night, drinking wine, and eating fantastic scallops…my birthday dinner couldn’t have been better. At the end of the night, the owner paid my tab! Who does that?! This was one of my top 10 dining experiences. Everyone should visit Plantagenet House when in Tenby if you want a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, a relaxed vibe in a cool setting, and yummy food.

Came here for our first ever valentine’s together after 6 years and it did not disappoint. Our food was cooked to perfection and one of the best steaks I’ve had in years. Great service by Laura who was fun and bubbly throughout

Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cosy relaxed meal in Tenby

Came here for a meal NYE 2025, and so glad we did, Laura our host was absolutely amazing and from the moment we walked in our experience was absolutely personable, it was like walking into a local where you feel at home straight away, the food was delicious, and the building itself was incredible, we only stayed for our meal as one of us had to drive, but really wish we could of stayed all night, Thank you for making us feel at home, Jon, Jennie and little Dottie

Tucked away down the alley, this is a gem of a restaurant. It has a feel of something pleasantly old fashioned, with a menu that is not too extensive, suggesting that the food is indeed, freshly prepared and makes you feel you are treating yourself to something special. The service is very friendly and timely.
I chose the wild mushroom linguine and it was worth every penny. Creamy sauce, with mushrooms full of flavour and the pasta cooked perfectly.
The restaurant had guests from Italy,Netherlands and France and I’m sure that they all went away, impressed with the dishes served.
A great place to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary and in all liklihood, somewhere we will visit again, quite soon.

We came here as a spur-of-the-moment decision, having enjoyed a pint of IPA in the downstairs bar. We were welcomed and offered a choice of tables. The regular menu looked fab, but our eyes had caught the Tenby half lobster on the specials board, so we both opted for that.
When it came, it was a big half lobster, nicely seasoned, with plenty of meat in the tail and, after the usual cracking, in the claws. It was sublime. Served with a fresh salad and perfectly cooked hot fries, this was an outstanding meal. We also enjoyed the apple and raspberry crumble for dessert. Accompanying our meal were a glass of Sauvignon and another of Pinot blush, both going well with the respective courses. Wonderful friendly service. This was a wonderful meal to round off our stay in beautiful Tenby.
(One other restaurant guest came up to inspect our lobster and was inspired to choose the same, and he seemed very happy with his choice too.)

A wonderful place for a relaxed and delicious meal.

Travel to tenby a few times a year and we always visit this restaurant but it’s gone right down hill this year went for valentines night food was the worse I have had .
From the special board I had surf and turf asked for medium rare and it was black burnt 2 prawns over cooked and a few potatoes burnt £46 .
My partner had sea bass and was also over cooked very disappointed.
Restaurant was full of smoke from a living fire and most of the customers complaining about the food that was reserved.
We will definitely not be going back

Very average!

My girlfriend and I ate dinner here recently and neither of us were particularly impressed.
Both felt our fish (hake with chorizo stew and mine a simple halibut and braised leek) were not particularly fresh tasting, though both well cooked.

Both commanded strong prices and I felt neither lived up to the cost. The halibut was £36, it didn’t come with a sauce and left me partially flat afterwards.

The location and atmosphere are both pluses, the building is historic and beautiful; the service was okay.

Tenby has better places to offer, I suggest you keep exploring!
