Absolutely great food. Had the Smokehouse Burger for lunch today and was cooked exactly how I like it. The experience was very impressive. Food didnt take long at all to come out.

The restaurant is nicely decorated, quiet, and relaxing. The wait staff was very friendly. They however probably need to examine their pricing and portions. The Sunday brunch was $21 each – no thanks. I selected the Muffuletta for $10. It was just 1/4, bread wasn’t crispy (soggy actually), the meat was barely warm, and the olive mix was barely there.

One of the worst restaurant experiences my family has ever had about 2 weeks ago- Feb 2020. Obscenely overpriced with the bill for 5 totaling $295 (only one glass of wine). It’s a beautiful space tho, which makes it unfortunate. The wine list is decent. The food and service were horrible. When we tried to complain we were ignored. When we posted a constructively negative review on a local community group the waitress and manager doubled down instead of trying to make it right. There were only 2 other customers the Saturday we went also. We were so looking forward to our visit because we had heard such great things, so hopefully they are improving.

The atmosphere is so calming. Beautiful lighting, soft music playing, you could have great dinner conversation. The wait staff is amazing so nice. The chef visits each table to see if they are enjoying their food. The portions are large so you are taking food home for lunch the next day. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday, the first bar is like a buffet with fresh baked scones and biscuits, bacon, etc. The second station the chef will make an omelet of your choice or eggs Benedict. We really enjoyed the experience.

I love the place! It is sooo beautiful and romantic! The food was so good, great recipes and quality products! Wonderful sized portions! A great fine dining experience that is worth your money! The staff is friendly and attentive and the kitchen even made something specific at my request! I will definitely be having my birthday here during their Wine and Song event on Thursdays! I’m so glad that central has something like this!!!

This is their third Sunday being open, so we went to try it out. The food was excellent and Nicole was great. She handled all 8+ of her tables with great poise and consistently. The food was great, now I no longer have to drive to Baton Rouge for great Italian.

UPDATE: 3/17/19- Having just moved here months ago, I like to figure where the good places are. I have figured out few people know of this place, this the reason for the post. Off Wax behind Central Buffet is one of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge.
Let me introduce you to Girasole, an Italian restaurant with style, flavor, and a great Staff. It will definitely be top pick for date night. Fridays they have had live entertainment. Sundays are great, and I hear they are working on a brunch Buffett. Today they had the Irish brunch Buffett, and it was fabulous.
Francis does a fantastic job in the kitchen, while Nicole and her crew take care and pamper you. We have been many times in the past weeks, and have never been disappointed.
Take time this week to stop by and enjoy a meal, not only do you not have to cook, but they clean and do the dishes too. Serious, make a date and don’t be late at Girasole.

I took my wife and daughter to Girasole for dinner on Valentines Day. They were definitely not at their best. I ordered a beer when we first got there and after 45 minutes I still never received it. I told the waitress to just cancel the order. The menu was a pre-fix menu. The appatizer was a shrimp bisque that was barely warm and extremely salty. We commented to the waitress and she said several others complained about the salt. Our main course was good, but not fantastic. We had been to Girasole before and the food was good, but there were clearly overwhelmed on Valentines Day and very much did NOT impress.

Oh mama! I know I give a lot of places 5 star reviews, but this one is the bomb!! Let’s get serious though. The service, the food, the interior design. They have it all. It’s an Italian based resturaunt. I went there with my mother and step father for my moms birthday. We had an amazing time, it was clean and neat and the server was so kind. I loved the time I spent there simply because I felt cozy and fancy at the same time! Don’t get me started on that lasagne though! It was wonderful, and it was so filling! We also got the famous 3 layered chocolate mousse cake. A tasteful delight. I feel that I’ve been spoiled!

My first visit was the 15th with the special Valentine’s Day menu. For the high price, it was quite disappointing. The crab bisque was good, but was unappetizing served lukewarm; the salad was good but nothing special. The rustic herb bread was quite good. Our main dish, a seafood rolled lasagne with cream sauce, was generous and tasty but was also served lukewarm. The shrimp tasted un-Italian with what appeared to be chili powder seasoning, but they were OK. The tiramisu was the best we ever had, but service was lacking. There was no excuse for cold food and spotty service, as the place was nearly empty. Next time we will go to Carrabba’s.

I’ll begin with this. Italian food is not my thing. No matter where I go, it’s always the same thing. I find it on the bland side of the ethnic spectrum. Tomatoes… bland cream and diluted cheese…noodles.

HOWEVER, this place is an ectreme exception!! Their food is the holy grail of Italian food. It’s exquisite taste, nice portions, and you can tell everything is fresh. The atmosphere is lovely as well as the wonderfully friendly and accommodating staff. They also have my favorite drinks, literally nothing they have there is a disappointment other than the fact it’s not often I can afford it lol. But it is well worth the money!!!!

PS: their complimentary bread, herbs and butter are irresistible
