My Father and I both enjoyed our meal here. It was an early dinner so there weren’t that many guests yet. It took a few minutes for anyone to greet us. After we were seated, a few servers walked by without saying anything and I didn’t appreciate that our server Chris was wearing his airpods while serving us. we also had to find someone to bring us utensils for our food. The service definitely could have been better. But,Our food came out quickly and HOT. All in all I’d recommend this Independence KY. location.

It really depends what day you go here, what service you’ll get. I’ve been 2x in the last week.
The first experience was great! The second experience (yesterday) was great but warm inside, they may need a new AC unit.
I always get the Pollo Bandido (no beans) and it’s soooo delicious. Chicken and rice covered in queso. It was $45 for three people during lunch hours.
I have ordered takeout in the past and sometimes it’s so busy that the wait takes forever and the host disappears. Some of the hosts are not friendly, but most of them are. A few take out orders I’ve had have been messed up in the past (2x) where they’ve given us beans when we specifically asked for no beans. This is probably because of low staffing and busy times though.
I still highly recommend El Rio Grande!!! It’s my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! I literally crave this stuff. ✨

First time going here, very impressed!! The inside is very clean, welcoming, and fun, and the food was incredible. Our waitress was very attentive, kind, and easy to talk to. Will be going back! The pollo de monterey was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant and the strawberry margarita was very delicious as well.

I came in because I was craving chips and salsa. They were better than expected. Got greeted and seated right away. Friendly waitress. I got the chicken burrito al carbon, which was a ton of food. It makes for good leftovers! Only weird part of my meal was the sour cream was frozen and I couldn’t get my fork through it. Other than that, $10-15 per plate, good spot for Mexican food.

While the food was great, the overall experience was a bit lacking. There seemed to be some mechanical issues that made it a but warm inside. They seemed to be trying to deal with it but people could definitely tell it was a struggle. While most people enjoyed thier service, we were a little shocked when we didn’t get the drinks we ordered until we were almost done eating. Server seemed to forget something every time they came back to the table. Typically my wife and I love Rio Grande but this particular location I’d not one of our favorites. Hopefully they can overcome some of the building issues and iorn out some customer service and this could be a fairly solid place to dine from time to time.

This restaurant is great! We eat here at least once sometimes twice per week and I’ve never had anything that wasn’t delicious. The food is also very reasonably priced. the staff is very attentive and they serve very quickly.

Our favorite place to eat in town. Always delicious and the service is fast. The Carnitas are the best I have ever eaten! The meat melts in your mouth! Hector was our waiter and he was great!
