First time AND last time eating at this place. Firstly, I paid almost $100 for 2 steak dinners, a barbecue sandwich, a side of baked beans, a side of Mac n cheese, and a pint of Brunswick stew. Plus I drove 23 mins from the next county over for this food. Not worth the money or the time spent. I placed the order in-store because I could not get anyone to answer their phone! I was sitting in the restaurant waiting for the order to be ready. No one ever said anything to me about my order being ready. I went back to the counter after 30 minutes of just sitting there to see my food packed up waiting for me. Once I checked the order, I noticed that things weren’t right. They forgot the toppings I asked for on my baked potato. When I said something, the girl who took my order said she forgot to add it on because I kept adding to the order. Oh, okay. Whatever that means. They then tried to charge me for the individual toppings I asked for and said that it would have been the same amount if I would have been charged for it the first time. The entire trip started to feel like an inconvenience more than anything else. I told the cashiers that I wasn’t paying for that and they apologized and that was it. I normally would ask to speak to the manager/owner(s), but I was so tired and irritated with the whole experience, I just wanted to get back home. I walked out of the restaurant and told myself I’d never return. Then on top of the mediocre customer service, the 2 steaks I ordered had NO seasoning at ALL, and one of the steaks was 70% tendons and fat. When I did find a piece of meat, it was so tough, you couldn’t even chew it! And I know I asked for my steak well done, but that doesn’t mean tougher than a tractor tire! If you all cannot cook a well done steak to the point where it is seasoned and edible, maybe you should take it off your menu. The barbecue sandwich was sloppy, soggy, and DISGUSTING. The pork was so sour and acidic, it had my chest on fire. Out of all the food I ordered, the only thing that was decent was the baked beans and they were questionable. They put that sour pulled pork in the beans along with 17 pounds of SUGAR! With that type of food and customer service being served, who is keeping Harry’s in business is the question!?? DO BETTER, HARRY’S. I think I’m about to dispute the charge for the food, too.

Best dark-meat chicken, fried mushrooms, corn nuggets… and for some reason I wanted to put my potato salad in my potato loaf bread. The ambiance is excellent and the staff is pretty amazing.

The service was good. Large menu was a plus. Got the sampler the ribs were good but the chicken and pulled pork were extremely dry as if it had been under a warmer all day.

Excellent food and friendly service. The catfish and shrimp dinner was delicious; the shrimp lightly fried with the catfish in a cornmeal batter. My mother had the fried squash as a side; I tried some and was great, too. Nome of the fried food was the least bit greasy. It’s definitely a go-to spot of you’re in the Claxton area.

Food was delicious. I was not able to eat it all in one sitting. The coleslaw had a distinct taste which I enjoyed. I also really liked their bar b cue sauce.

Very nice and spacious place. Super clean restrooms and sitting areas. I ordered shrimp and grits it was just that shrimp and grits nothing extra. But to my surprise the grits came out piping hot, cheesy and creamy. I usually am very hesitate about ordering grits from restaurants but I can truly say they did not disappoint. My spouse ordered the rib plate and hands down those were some of the best ribs ever. Seasoned with perfection and falling of the bone tender. I would recommend this restaurant and would defintely recommend the grits” as a side” ,especially if you love grits like me, and the ribs.

Excellent Barbecue! The fried okra is very good too. I get to come here 2 times a year before each Walk to Emmaus begins, and I look forward to it every time.

Great food and atmosphere as well as many different menu choices at fair prices. Lots of 6-8 seater booths as well as tables towards the back of the restaurant. Kind friendly staff as well!

You ever want to just waste money?.
Do you like buying food you can’t eat?
Firstly,
You walk in and there’s a giant menu, so you get kinda excited with all your options, really pumped up for some good southern bbq.
They take your order at the counter, and you pay ,they hand you a number and you seat yourself and they will bring your food to the table.
You can serve yourself beverages and they have a soda fountain and sweet tea/unsweetened tea and pink lemonade options.
However,
Their soda fountain was flat, no bubbles no fizzy delicious Coca-Cola or sprite . And their sweet tea?… not southern in the least. Like why is there no sweetness in sweet tea?
Anyway our waitress brings out our food.
Immediately. IMMEDIATELY you can tell you about to not enjoy anything on the plate. The sides are in tiny 2 oz cups, come to you cold. the fries cold and dry,the pulled/chopped pork cold, dry,
The ribs, cold dry, the chicken… like chewing rubber cold and dry. Literally everything seems like like a few days old and been sitting out under a broke. Heat lamp since they began the day. And you ever entered an autozone or mechanics shop and smelled that oily automobile smell?… yeah everything tastes like how that place smells. DISGUSTING! I just wasted so much money on food that couldn’t be consumed.
One of the worse dining experiences ever how disappointing it is to pay good money for food you won’t eat. And I was raised not to complain or be rude to service workers so when our waitress would check on us with the look on her face like she JUST KNEW the food was dissatisfactory and was dreading us asking it to be remade or refunded, I couldn l’t bring myself to let her know HARRY should close his business asap cause this food is TERRIBLE. How the hell is their average rating a 4.3?
The only thing that seemed halfway decent was the corn nuggets and broccoli cheddar bites which you just KNOW comes in a premade frozen bag they just deep fry for 2 minutes and let me tell you… even that was mediocre at best.
We were just passing thru Claxton hoping to get a good meal and left claxton hungry I tell you we did. Not eat that food. Money wasted. And I don’t ever want to pass thru claxton again.
