Came early evening on Sunday and was sat immediately. Seated with chips, salsa, bean dip and water as soon as we got there which was amazing and super good. The portions are humongous and both me and my husband could not finished our food and had to take some home. Food came quickly, was super hot and fresh, tasted amazing! Best Mexican food in the area. I’ve had over a dozen places and this is by far the best. We will be back

This place was my favorite mexican restaurant for a while and never had issues with the food but last time I went to take my partner on a dinner date they gave us the menu and never came back for almost 30 minutes, I didn’t realize until we finished the chips and dip that we’ve been waiting for so long. I waited patiently thinking they’d realize we have the menus sitting at the edge of the table with only 2 other booths full but we gave up and left after they took a new tables order and we didn’t even have water. Even said to have a good night with a smile at the front as we left hungry.

What a great place to enjoy some food, friends and the employees were extra attentive! The food was with the price and the drinks are strong! Music was a little too loud which made it hard to chat with people around you.

I can’t express here in a few comments what a great experience dining here was, but I will try. First off, walking in we got the old town mexico feeling with the decor, next we were greeted and kindly shown options for seating. Next our waiter, son number 3 I believe, was pleasant and knowledgeable of anything we asked. He was attentive to our needs the entire meal. I got the fajitas which came on a sizzling skillet..yummy! The tortillas were great and the beans as well. I liked the chips and salsa and the avocado salsa was something I’ve never seen at a Mexican restaurant. My friends food was exceptional too. They finished every last bite. We had the pleasure of seeing someone celebrating their birthday and the staff gave a little parade and song for them. fun fun!! The best part of the time there was the owner coming over to greet us, ask if all was good, and chat a bit from our silly questions. He also checked in towards the end of our meal. Friendly man knowledgeable, and very charismatic and charming. His boys are as well and all work there as the waiters. Any place would pay big bucks for costumer service as wonderful as theirs. ONE OF THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD JOINTS I’VE BEEN TOO. Can’t wait to drive back through from California to stop again. Until then, gracious amigos!

I haven’t left a review for a place in a very long time, but I feel compelled to give this one a rave review because I’m still thinking about it a week later. This is, hands down, the best customer service I’ve ever experienced in the entire city of Corvallis, and I’ve lived here for a long time. Our waiter went above and beyond. He was clearly service-oriented, charming, and extremely professional. If I didn’t know better, I’d say he has a bachelor’s degree in customer service. I’m still impressed with him and I wish he would train all wait staff in this county. He’s clearly a native Spanish speaker and he helped me properly pronounce words in such a charming and charismatic way. He was attentive but not intrusive. He was charismatic but not overbearing. I left the restaurant feeling like I had a real experience, which I haven’t felt in a very, very long time. This place is great.

I went here about a week ago on an “accidental date” with my mother. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice — low lighting, electronic torches, and a genuine lit candle on our table. It made my mom and me start joking about it being date night.

The food is delicious. The plates themselves are huge, so at first, it might not look like a lot of food, but don’t be fooled — one meal fed me for three days afterwards. (And the leftovers were just as delicious as the first day I got them)

PS did you check out the size of that margarita glass?

Our very favorite restaurant in Corvallis! The staff at El Patron are all incredibly friendly, helpful, professional, and FAST. Margaritas as big as your head! Beautifully prepared meals arrive quickly, still sizzling and outstanding every time. We always leave feeling as if we’ve been treated like family. LOVE this place!

You are greeted fairly quickly when you walk in. However, it is really cold in this place. Not just this time, but every time I’ve come in the last 5 years. Other people I am with also say this.

The floors are sticky and there is a burnt smell throughout. This was attributed by, likely the manager, to be from the cleaning agents. This guy came back a couple times to ensure things were good otherwise. The smell was “suppose” to disappate, but was nauseating. No one in our group liked it at all. It smelled like burned or charred peppers or other food. Our group nearly left due to the smell and fidgid temperature, but we were short on time. No one else came in to the dining side while we were there.

The food- quesadillas, tacos, and water, came in a good time and were alright. Daniel, our server, was great and personable.

What can this place do to improve? Increase the temp 10 degrees, dilute the floors cleaners better or use something that doesn’t leave the floors sticky, avoid whatever is making the “aroma” as the kitchen smells should do the place justice, and bring back events like Bingo, karaoke, trivia, etc…

Being close to my hotel I walked over one night for dinner and I’m glad that I did. The staff is very friendly, the menu has many options and the service is great. The food is very authentic and tasty. I will be back again when in the area.
