During peak hours, this is definitely a difficult place to find a spot to sit and eat, or even work because it’s very loud due to the crowd, but there is ample seating and this is due to the popularity of the location rather than being a fault of the cafe itself.
The desserts are a tad pricey compared to the taste, but they are beautiful and clearly labor-intensive. Just be prepared to spend $8 or more per dessert. I personally found the vanilla brulee and similar desserts to be more appealing than the trendy fruit desserts!
All in all, if you want a place to sit and work, definitely go during off hours. If you’re looking for takeout, don’t be afraid to brave the lines! The staff know what they’re doing and will get you your order quickly.
The desserts, however, were better. I tried the pistachio dessert and really liked it; it was one of the highlights of the visit.
Unfortunately, the place itself wasn’t very clean. The seating area and overall space felt a bit dirty and not very well maintained, which took away from the experience.
On a positive note, the service was good. The staff were friendly and helpful, which I appreciated.
Overall, it was an okay visit—some decent desserts and good service, but the drinks, pastries, and cleanliness could definitely be improve
Price wise mango desert and a cream brûlée cappuccino for 23$ seems a lot but I definitely would do it again. Worth it!
Besides that I think there should be more work done on the interior. In my opinion, It dosnt really matches the vibe. The furniture look outdated and just spread across the room. But that is only when you pay attention to it.
But with great food and beverage plus lovely service you can look past that.
We attempted to visit here several times and they were always sold out. I am glad that we finally can see and taste the hype. The pastries are beautiful. They have several options in the menu like cheesecake, praline and more. Their drinks menu is diverse from caffeinated to non caffeinated and even with alcohol. The service was straightforward nothing really much to say.
When I tried the pastries, I didn’t understand the hype. It is good but not something I will crave, at least the one we chose. The technique and presentation though was really luring and enticing to try. The drink is okay, I will probably opt to go here for pastries than drinks. Also they have other pastries on the side that is savory.
Overall it’s nice experience
The staff is friendly. Service is quick, and the space is always clean and inviting. Might be really crowded during busy hours and weekends. It’s one of those places that feels warm and relaxing as soon as you walk in. Definitely a cafe I’ll keep coming back to and recommending to others!
One of Layered’s standout features is their selection of fruit-based desserts. The mango and strawberry creations are vibrant, fresh, and full of flavor, while the chocolate options are rich and indulgent without being overly sweet. I especially appreciated that all of their offerings are Halal, which makes it a welcoming spot for diverse diners who want to enjoy a treat without worry.
The drinks menu pairs perfectly with their desserts, from smooth lattes to creative seasonal beverages. I tried a classic cappuccino, which was velvety and well-balanced, and it complemented the fruity desserts perfectly.
The only downside is the pricing. While everything looks and tastes high-quality, the items are noticeably expensive for the portion sizes. A single dessert or drink can feel a bit overpriced, and ordering multiple items adds up quickly. For occasional indulgence, it’s worth it, but it’s not somewhere I’d visit regularly on a budget.
Overall, Layered shines with its fresh and flavorful fruit desserts, rich chocolate offerings, Halal-friendly menu, and relaxing atmosphere. If you don’t mind paying a premium for presentation and ambiance, it’s a delightful spot to satisfy your sweet cravings.
I’ve tried a variety of their desserts, but I would say my favorite is the Rocher dessert, which is like a Ferrero Rocher. The hazelnut inside isn’t too sweet and has a nice crispy crunch inside.
For drinks I would recommend the Kyoto latte and strawberry matcha. The strawberry matcha has a nice strong matcha taste and wasn’t too sweet even with the strawberry.
