Was driving through the area and was soooo lucky to see this spot on Yelp! My husband and I just moved to the South from Honolulu last year and we have been missing Hawaiian food like crazy.
Look no further! Aloha Made BBQ is a family owned, Veteran owned and as legit as it gets! Niu and his wife Raquel are so nice, welcoming and full of the aloha spirit.
Had to get the two meat plate with chicken and kalbi, 2 scoop rice, 1 scoop Mac salad. Also ordered the loco moco. Everything was delicious! The food is so ono. It really tasted like being back on the island.
Niu was also kind to give us a sample of the kalua pork – tender and juicy and had that sweet smoky flavor, just perfect!
Located on the left side of the VFW building, I cannot recommend this place more. We will definitely come back up this way for the food and the friendly vibes.

This is a food place inside a VFW with a stage and about 6-10 pool tables. Its a little hard to find but certainly worth the effort. We got three fried rice bowls for lunch at $9.75 each. One chicken, one pork and one garlic shrimp. All were every good. Personally liked the pork and garlic bowls best. The shrimp had great flavor even though you have to peel it which is a little inconvenient. The bowls were filled with plenty of fried rice and meat…six large shrimp for instance. They also sell plates which are basically double the size of the bowls but the bowls are really filling. There wasn’t as much flavor as I thought but again all were very good.
Would I go back? Absolutely

As a Hawaiian girl living in the mainland I can attest that everything from the food to the service is exactly like being back home! Every time my husband and I visit we are welcomed with aloha, island music, and sizzling sound of meat. I’ve been to over 20 states and look for Hawaiian food everywhere I go. Nothing has even come close to what they do here. This place is the hidden gem of the gulf coast.

The owner is such a great guy! He’s from Hawaii, you can tell because it’s so much better than other Hawaiian BBQ we’ve had!He obviously takes pride in the food he cooks and it shows! He gave us samples of the other stuff he offers, which made us more excited to come back. All the meats had amazing flavor, and it’s SO MUCH food for the money. Portion sizes are huge so you definitely have lunch for the next day.

Picked up some food for 70 guests and it was amazing! Everyone is still talking about how great the food was, 3 days later. The pork stew was on of the best things I’ve EVER had and the chicken was perfect. They are the sweetest family and went above and beyond helping me load all the food. They even gave me a piece of the guava cake, which was so good! Can’t wait to eat this food again!

AMAZING is the BEST word to describe this place !! Drove an hour and a half away from Gulfport, MS to get a taste of home and got that and so much more !!! The food is DELICIOUSSSS, the portions are more than generous and Mr. Faiupu and his son was extremely welcoming and the aloha spirit was in abundance at their place! Definitely made me miss home and I’m so glad I found them. Will absolutely be making the drive more frequently to get more of their delicious food !!! We got one of EVERYTHING on their menu and It was all soooo goodddd!!! 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE !!! Don’t miss out !!! Fa’afetai tele lava and thank you again for the tasty and ono food !!!
