Phenomenal food! We loved everything we tried especially the bibimbap and the green onion pancake. The drinks were also amazing. We tried the pear punch and the fruit teas.

Service was friendly and fast. Our food was served piping hot with good pacing between the appetizers and entrees.

The atmosphere was clean, calm, and quiet.

We will definitely be back and highly recommend Buk Chon!

I had a great experience at Buk Chon Korean Cuisine. The food was super tasty — we ordered two appetizers and two main dishes, and everything was delicious. The environment is really chill, and although there are TVs inside, they stay off, which keeps the vibe calm and comfortable.

The service was friendly. We spent about $80 total including tip, which felt reasonable for the quality and portions.

One thing to note: the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible.

Overall, definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for great Korean food in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.

Came late on a week day, and service was quick and friendly.

I’m going to be fully honest – I was a little skeptical of a place that sells green onion pancakes at the price they sell it but I just avoided that and went for the Korean fried chicken and signature bibimbap and these were executed super well.

The Korean fried chicken was flavorful, light / crispy, although not very spicy which I didn’t mind (though I would imagine you might be able to request it spicier if desired).

Spicy pork bibimbap: bright, flavorful, variety of vegetables. The spicy pork itself isn’t very spicy but I also avoided the gochujang sauce so cannot comment on that. Huge, generous portion.

We came for lunch after ice skating and a stew was the perfect choice. A bit dark inside and service is a little scattered. We ordered the seafood soondubu and the budae jiggae. Small amount of banchan but the kimchi was good. Both broths were flavorful, zero complaints on either!

I ordered Kimchi Paella with pork and chorizo, it was so so good! The egg will come in sunny side up style but you can request it as well done.

I don’t enjoy giving bad reviews but hopefully this review helps others and perhaps save you the headache and hassle.

I’ve dined both in the restaurant and also ordered take out many times. The food isn’t amazing but it’s one of the few Korean restaurants in the area so that’s why I’ve come back due to the convenience. However, I had two experiences where I ordered the soondubu (tofu stew) and the tofu disintegrated by the time I got home. This happened a few months ago and just last week. I have ordered this same dish before for takeout and had no issues and the tofu still intact. I don’t know if they changed the way they make the dish but I noticed they no longer put the stew in another plastic bag- which the restaurant didn’t allow me to explain when I called.

The first time that this happened several months ago, I contacted them and they were really apologetic after I shared with them the situation and pictures. She offered to remake the dish or a refund. It would be a ways out to pick it up again so I opted for the refund. I wouldn’t have minded delivery but that wasn’t an option offered and I would have happily tipped for delivery.

Last week I was craving soondubu and was in the area so I ordered the dish again. After I got home about 20-25 minutes later of picking up my order, the tofu again disintegrated. Maybe it’s my fault for trusting that maybe this issue was fixed but it wasn’t. I called the restaurant and I didn’t appreciate the way the person handled the conversation and dismissed me.

I am posting this review because I’ve ordered this same dish many times before. There wasn’t any issues when I brought the food home but the last two times were the exception. I tried to explain that perhaps they used to put the soup/stew in another bag, and she interrupted me to say that she packed it herself because she remembered this happening last time. She then said the dish was fine when it was at the restaurant and she doesn’t know what happened during the transport. This was a little off-putting because she was basically saying this was my problem and it was my fault. She did offer to make me another order and said that she could not refund me. It is extremely unappetizing, pictures attached. And what good does remaking me an order if the same thing will likely happen? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Fool me three times, shame on me…

The taste of the food isn’t amazing so it’s not a huge loss. But it’s a shame because the food is okay and I really like to support local restaurants. It’s unfortunate they will sell something that doesn’t keep its shape and look very unappetizing and won’t listen to their customers when they try to have a conversation. They will no longer be getting my business.

Update to their response:
The restaurant already packed the food into the bag. It was never confirmed with me in person that the dish was intact so that is a blatant lie. The person did say on the phone they confirmed and packed it themselves since she understood it was an issue before. And like I said in my review, offering to make me the dish again would be a waste of my time when this already happened twice.

Very well Korean Cuisine, the restaurant is very nicely decorated. There are several food options. Which is a good sign.
The dishes are good. One thing to notice is that the spicy level. I expected spicy but it was not. The accompanying banchan are also so nice.
Service is good. It’s a good experience dining there.

I went to Bukchon during a day that had chilling weathers. The Budae stew was really delicious. The soup is so luscious and had so much flavor. There is perfect amount of spice, and the best part is that you can ask how much spice you want in the stew.

Buk Chon is a hidden gem!
I ordered the spicy pork buns and the Bibimbap with chicken. Both were amazing.
The spicy pork buns, however, weren’t spicy. And that’s my personal opinion. Everyone has different spicy tolerance. I enjoyed how the buns themselves were the classic softness but also had a nice crunch to it as well. The texture was a perfect balance. The pork was tender and complimented the spicy sauce well.
The Bibimbap on the hot stone bowl was great! Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The gochujang chili sauce was really good.
It was my first time and I was pleased with my experience and I will be returning.
I recommend trying this place out!
