I visited Flying Biscuit and ordered the Shrimp and Grits entrée featuring creamy white cheddar grits topped with blackened shrimp, served with a roasted red pepper and tomato sauce along with a biscuit. I also enjoyed a golden buttermilk waffle that I added chocolate chips to. The grits were rich and smooth, the shrimp were well-cooked with a nice blackened flavor, and the waffle was light and buttery with the chocolate chips melting perfectly into each bite. Overall, a comforting and delicious meal with great Southern flavor that I’ll definitely come back for. And I can’t forget to mention their biscuits; perfectly fluffy, buttery, and easily some of the best around. A true must-try! P.S. get the truffle fries, you won’t regret it 😉

It’s a little loud during peak times just because so many people are there but everything is great. They are friendly and quick. Helpful and accommodating. The bottle service mimosa is a great option for a brunch. Definitely try the beignet donuts. Pistachio latte was delicious.

First trip here. Fantastic service, the chicken gravy I never had anywhere before was an incredible taste, loved it! The chicken sausage I personally would one star it and remove from menu. The pancake tacos was a unique experience. I recommend and will return in future.

This was an interesting spot for the first visit. When we walked in was not expecting to see a full bar. We were there around 11am or 1130am. They seated us immediately and there were probably 15 tables already seated. There were also plenty of seats still available. Menu has lots of options but not overwhelming. I got the gravy and biscuits, had to try something with a biscuit with the potatoes for a side, given the name of the place. It was good. The biscuit was okay. It didn’t WOW me. My wife got the burrito with the cheese grits on the side. The burrito was great. But the star were those cheese grits. I highly recommend these. We will definitely be back during their select hours. These is the part that threw me for a loop. As I stated at the beginning they have a full seat at bar. So I expected that they would have hours that would match having a full bar. Nope. During the week 7am to 2pm and weekends 7am to 3pm. Great opening hours. It is just strange to me the closing hours.

Mom and I came here for breakfast on Sunday, we showed up around 9:30am and had a 20min wait. The place is popular so I would expect to wait if you have a larger party. I had the stuffed French Toast with over medium eggs and the chicken sage sausage patties. My mom got the Honey Butter Chicken and Waffles, which she said was good. She’s often leery of chicken tenders used for chicken and waffles but she still said it was good. With a name like the Flying Biscuit Café, you must have a good biscuit, and I will say that the biscuit that came with my meal was to die for! It was so fluffy, and the apple butter was an added bonus! I also had them mix apple and cranberry juice which Daisy our server did an excellent job in making sure our visit was pleasant. I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items.
The place is decorated with all the iconic things Knoxville has to offer. The bar is 1st come 1st serve. The parking lot is shared with several businesses so depending on when you go, parking may be troublesome so keep this in mind. Food comes out quickly, so people don’t usually linger which makes the turn around fairly quick.

My first time visiting this fine establishment! Everything was delicious, and the service from Joleen was top-notch! We’re celebrating my sister’s birthday and this was such a treat! This Cafe will become a staple in our community! The food is really good and the employees were amazing during my birthday brunch! The young man that was at the bar was very personable and makes the best cocktails. I had the Hangover hash which he recommended and it was really very good! Their holiday cocktail menu is spectacular! We will definitely be back!
