Stopped here on our way from Wichita expecting a more fast food style place but it’s actually a gas station with a convenience store and a majority of the food is precooked. There’s a separate small dining room area off to the side with a few tables and chairs. We tried the catfish po boy, which was good. The fish was precooked, but the sandwich was made fresh while we waited with fresh sliced tomatoes and lettuce on it and despite the fish being precooked it wasn’t really dried out or anything. We also tried their corn dogs, mini tacos, and a chili crispito. Everything was good.

Tonight we ate at the newly added Shep’s Diner inside the store. Large selections of chicken tenders, catfish and sides precooked. They also have a large cook to order menu, and the clerk reccomnded the “Cowboy Burger”. It was delicious. 2 large patties, BBQ sauce, an onion rings and your choice of cheese. It was amazing. This burger is huge. Fries were really good also. My son had the catfish snack meal with Mac and cheese, and it was really good also, the catfish filet was big.

This was a bad experience in every aspect of the order. We placed an order on line for pick up. When we arrived they couldn’t find our order and hadn’t prepared it yet. Finally found it on the office computer. They apologized and began preparing the order while we waited, however they had already shut off the deep fryer and didn’t bother to heat the oil hot enough to cook the food without just soaking up the oil. It was so nasty. Every bit of it. Chicken fingers, french fries and chicken fried steak. Unfortunately we were on the road to Dallas and didn’t bother to turn around and go back. I did reach out to them via email and expressed my issues but they never bother to contact me in return. Hence my review. I know, and understand, that it’s hard please everyone. However, I believe customer service promptly addressing this concern could have rectified the situation, as in most situations. I can’t make a recommendation for this restaurant. I honestly don’t know if the food gets any better than what we received but I can vouch for poor customer service. F-

Love this location! I always stop for fuel here because the prices are very competitive. The real kicker is the food and excellent customer service! Best chicken ever! Fresh no mater what time I roll in and the salads are superb. The staff behind the counter are so nice and helpful! It’s worth the drive from Arkansas City!

The only setback on the orders, and why they are docked one star from a perfect score achieved on a previous order: We both ordered the Country Fried Steak Sandwich with two sides each, and we both ordered with no onion or pickles and both sandwiches included — you got it — red onion and pickles. The pickle juice left a bitter taste to the burn. Our order was placed online and it left specific topping requests. The order was ready in the time given, but seven minutes before closing, and I guess that the cook was ready for closing time and missed our special orders.

The picture menu doesn’t tell you that they’ll put the chicken pieces on a bed of mashed potatoes and corn and then pour gravy on top.. After we fixed that (after receiving food), all the food was delicious. A nice little hometown place to get some good and filling food!

Whether you’re there to get gas, a drink or food, it’s a great stop. Employees are always polite and service is always fast, even during lunch hour when the place is packed and things are a little hectic. The food is ridiculously spectacular as well. I highly recommend trying their food. Overall, 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. Great job.

So I won a little money $105 to be exact and I went to this Shepherd’s location to cash them in I was helped by a lady named Brenda Jones she was incredibly rude. She was slamming My Money Down in front of me and complaining because she didn’t have much in her drawer. If she had advised me of this from the beginning I would have understood and gladly went somewhere else. However she chose to be rude instead. I will not return to this location ever again. I did not do anything to warrant that kind of treatment.
