My husband and I have been coming to Noon Whistle for years, and it has never disappointed. Hosting our celebration here was worth every penny. The Barrel Room is very spacious and has such a cute, welcoming atmosphere. The quality of the food was excellent as well.
As a fun bonus, there happened to be a Bears game on the day of our event, and the brewery provided a screen so we could stream the game right in the room. A Bears win was the icing on the cake! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and highly recommend Noon Whistle for any special celebration.
There was a craft fair going on, which was great. We love supporting local crafters.
We ordered the loaded nachos, which were generously topped with melted cheese, seasoned ground beef, fresh jalapeños, sour cream, pico de gallo, and a zesty drizzle that brought it all together. The portion was more than enough for sharing. We also tried a few drinks based on the server’s recommendations—each one was refreshing, well-balanced, and paired nicely with the food.
Overall, it was a great experience. Between the inviting ambiance, attentive service, and flavorful food, Noon Whistle Brewing is definitely a spot we’ll return to.
Really cool local place. The kind of “local” where you can strike up a conversation with the owner and he winds up giving you a personal tour of the place. I always enjoy experiences like that!
I’m not really much of a beer drinker these days but the group wanted to hit up a microbrewery and I was game. The place was crowded on a Saturday afternoon and had the typical microbrewery atmosphere. A little loud but everyone was having a great time. They don’t offer food but they do sometimes have a food truck hanging around. When they don’t you are welcomed to bring in food or have it delivered. I was a little hungry when we arrived and damn near mugged a table full of people who weren’t paying nearly enough attention to their Lou Malnati’s carry out. Fortunately for them, they had thin crust. Had it been deep dish…
About the beer – I tried two:
Blackberry Smack This Black Sour @ 4.9% ABV – this was. A pretty strong flavor but I really enjoyed it. I like an interesting beer and the combination of fruit flavors with a tart finish made this one really enjoyable.
Anfanger Rauchbier @ 5% ABV – I like damn near anything that has a smoky flavor and that extends to beer as well. I don’t know that this is one I would be happy spend the entire afternoon drinking but it certainly was a nice departure from a lot of the beers I generally try.
Certainly a place I could spend more time if. Lived closer. Fortunately the microbrewery thing still seems to be growing so I’m not in any danger of running out of places to try.
If I had to critique, I wasn’t a huge fan of the location and how it looks on the outside. It definitely falls short compared to the atmosphere indoors and how great the beer and food are. Nonetheless, I would definitely return without a doubt.
