I’ll first start by saying it’s very easy to get to.
The atmosphere is great. There’s a metal American flag right by their front door that was just awesome. They had plenty of TV’s with sports on. The booths we sat in were a lot of fun, too.
Our server was top-notch. She was honest and that’s something I truly appreciate. When I asked her about two particular items on the menu, she said she had tried one but not the other. She went on to explain that the other is heavily ordered by other patrons and hears nothing but praise. She was great.
For the food. They have a large selection to choose from. We chose the Ruben Mac and Cheese with mashed potatoes and the Whiskey Pineapple Chicken wrap with waffle fries.
The Ruben Mac and Cheese. Firstly, the mashed potatoes were amazing. They’re real potatoes. I’m saying, not boxed potatoes, throw ’em in boiling water and there’s your mashed potatoes. Heck no! These were honest to God potatoes and they were freaking delicious! So when you come here, as a side be sure to get to the mashed potatoes. The Ruben Mac and Cheese was awesome. We loved it. I’m Irish and honestly, I never thought about the Mac and Cheese route for a Ruben. Folks. It will not disappoint. Great flavor. The meal overall was delicious, flavorful and very hearty.
The Whiskey Pineapple Chicken wrap and waffle fries. Starting with the waffle fries. I was pretty bummed out. The fries were the bottom of the barrel. They seemed to have been made quite some time ago. They weren’t hot, honestly, they weren’t even warm. They were stale. They were so hard and unappealing. It was just a bummer. I admit, I love waffle fries. But these were just bad. The wrap was great. I’m always looking to try a different approach on something that we’ve all tried multiple times and this wrap didn’t disappoint. Then chicken was great. The flavor was spot on. The whiskey sauce was superb and mixed well with the sweet flavor of the pineapple. I would highly recommend this. But don’t get the waffle fries as a side.
I noticed and looked over their breakfast menu (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only (just a heads-up)). I have to say, I was so enticed by the dishes that I WILL be trying their breakfast soon!
I hope this helps. Cheers!

This was our first time here. A very nice bar and grill. The staff was fantastic. The menu is very extensive, with many delicious things to choose from. The food was fantastic and the margarita was so yummy. Clean bar with great ambiance. Would love to go back when they have live music. So glad we decided to stop in. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend everyone stops in for a cocktail and some food.

We’ve eaten at Schuggy’s a couple times when we traveled to adopt at Gregory’s Gift of Hope in New Richmond (We highly recommend this shelter! They are fantastic!) Our last trip we stopped to eat and had our new fur babies with us in kennels. We noticed that they had already cleared their patio area for the season. We knew we could not carry them inside, so we asked if they could accommodate us eating outside. The temps inside our vehicle would have been too warm for animals to sit in there. They were lovely and said sure! Nick came out and cleaned a table and chairs for us. I asked for a plain chicken breast to be cooked for our cats and they even cut it into tiny pieces for them. The food, as always, was excellent! I had the Whiskey BBQ shrimp and chicken. I highly suggest you give Schuggy’s a visit! Thank you for making a stressful trip so much better!

Wow! What a nice place, first off they had a fine selection of craft beers that are well enjoyed in the area. I had lunch here with my mother and we enjoyed the service and overall atmosphere. The food menu offers a variety of choices that everyone will be able to find something they want to try. I enjoyed the potato skins and the Bison burger was amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone in the area for a nice beer / drink and bite to eat! Also just love the name!

Wonderful local restaurant/bar for classic American fare at a good value. Great variety on the menu and breakfast Friday thru Sunday along with drink specials. The restaurant area is separate from the bar area with booths available. Live music most Fridays and Saturdays.

We came here because of the glowing responses for it’s gluten free options. They stated their fryers were not segregated for gluten free so none of their deep fried objects were celiac safe nor were their wings. We ordered the Piggy Mac and pizza fries.
The piggy mac was amazing but they were out of coleslaw and and didn’t say that until our food came out. They said they’d bring something to replace it, and never did. They also didn’t not bring out the marinara for the pizza fries or our sodas until we had to go and ask about them after we sat and finished the rest of our meal.
We still never got that coleslaw replacement. We also spent a lot of time waiting to have our orders taken and to get our bill. I doubt we will drive 30 minutes to come here again. The service.
I was also a bit worried when the person next to us spent 20 minutes trying to get the servers attention because their gluten free burger had a regular bun.
I wish the service was better, then I’d give their food another go. But to drive 30 minutes there and home, and spend almost 2 hours sitting there for this kind of service. Probably not.

Went to Shuggy’s for the first time at the insistence of a great friend of mine. My meal was fantastic! With a wonderful atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff eager to please. They didn’t offer loaded mashed potatoes but threw this (see photo) together, and it was amazing. Fresh chopped chives, real bacon chunks (big chunks!), finely shredded cheese, and the sour cream had a slight sweat taste to it that just made a perfect balance. Seriously, the potatoes where the winner of the meal and that’s saying a lot because the salmon was perfectly prepared and pretty high on my list of overall favorites for this dish. One thing you will not see in the photo is the “queso cheese-sauce” that they gave me for the broccoli. I’m pretty sure it was actually a queso-cheese “soup”, but either way, it went perfectly with the broccoli.
P.S. My meal was free because it was Veteran’s Day. Absolutely amazed that their offer for a free meal is not limited to a tiny child-size menu item. Their entire menu was/is open to Veterans! I hope they do this again next year, and until then I will come back again at least a few more times.

Good, local in downtown Hammond across from BP. It’s a homegrown spot that prides itself in providing a satisfying experience. The beer selection was good and the waiter (Michael V) was knowledgeable about the beers too. Food was fine and had extras as usual.

The service was satisfactory; however, the food was quite disappointing. It was, without a doubt, the worst pizza I have experienced in a considerable period, even compared to some frozen brands. I will certainly not be returning to this establishment.

Had dinner on a Sunday at 5:30pm. Upon entering we saw a sign to seat yourself so we did. After about 5 minutes nobody had waited on us so I went up to unstaffed hostess stand and grabbed some menus. It was about 15 minutes from the time we sat down before anyone came to wait on our table and throughout our meal we were never checked up on. The kicker is that there were only two other tables with customers that we saw so it was frustrating not having prompt service. We ordered the Totchos for an appetizer and they were good, we would order them again. It was around this time that we noticed two things. First, it was quite warm inside, our waitress said the A/C wasn’t able to keep up and the thermostat said it was 81 degrees inside. By the end of our meal we both had beads of sweat. Second, all the TVs were playing the DISH network how-to guide on repeat. It is crazy to have four TVs within eyesight and yet not have anything to watch. We were told the power had just gone out and come back on. The major disappointment for us was the Mac and cheese. We came here specifically for their Mac and cheese options. We got the Buffalo chicken Mac and the prime rib Philly mac. Both looked good, but neither had much cheese flavor. For a Wisconsin establishment it was very disappointing to have Mac and cheese that had no cheese flavor. To make matters worse, the Buffalo chicken Mac was supposed to come with blue cheese crumbles and there were none. When we asked about it we were given a small cup of blue cheese dressing… Not crumbles. The side of coleslaw was inedible. Overall it was a pretty miserable experience, the only highlight was the Totchos. Uncomfortable atmosphere, poor service and bad Mac and cheese. We were really looking forward to eating here, but unfortunately it was a big let down.
