Was able to come to the Yelp event held here and had an amazing time. Anna was our host and Kayla was our cohost, both did a phenomenal job planning and organizing the event.
Daniel the GM and Fatima are the 2 I remembered most and made this experience good with the customer service they provided.
I tasted the following:
Calamari: 9/10 really enjoyed, would order again
Falafel: 8/10 surprisingly good
Short rib sliders: 10/10 get this!!
Brussels sprouts no bacon: 7/10
Fish and chips: 7/10 battered beautifully but wish it had more seasoning.
Orzo puttanesca: 8/10 first time trying and I actually liked it
Cherry old fashioned: 10/10 unique and not too sweet
Ghost plane: 10/10 I love it
Items regular seem a little pricy so might be best for an happy hour ordeal.

We came here for brunch, and the food was good, but unfortunately, the service did not meet our standards. We had to wait 40 minutes just for our drinks, and they forgot to put in the order for our coffees, making the wait even longer. They didn’t charge us for our lattes to make up for the delays, but I was expecting better service overall. The food and drinks both tasted good, though. We had the granola and yogurt bowl and the grilled brie sandwich. We wanted to try the croissant as well, which unfortunately they were out of.

This is a really nice bar / restaurant located right off of JHU’s campus. The inside is a bit on the smaller end, but they have a great cocktail menu and nice variety of food options. The calamari was delicious, and definitely a great appetizer option. Cool spot to check out!

What a wonderful place. Really terrific service. Drinks were good, coffees were great. Brunch menu was on point. All the food was delicious. Good portions, high quality, very tasty. Multiple gluten free options. Staff went out of their way to help with our daughter’s gluten allergy. They really went above and beyond.

The food and atmosphere were ok. Waitress was nice but forgot numerous things throughout the evening, including a focaccia bread loaf for the table . One guest had to wait for their food since the order was “misunderstood”, no steak knives were provided for two guest that clearly needed them, so we had to ask another staff member in passing. Water ran out a few times while we waited to order more drinks. Once dinner was done, plates weren’t removed or even offered to be removed. They were nice and provided a small apple pastry for my birthday at my moms request, but that was rather bland. Again, nice atmosphere once you find parking but we won’t be returning. Surely, at $400, we could have enjoyed a better service elsewhere.

The conveniently located Dear Charles in the lower level of The Study at Johns Hopkins is excellent for cocktails before and after performances at the Baltimore Museum of Art.
I also enjoyed brunch after checking out of the hotel Saturday morning.
Dear Charles offered Excellent, attentive, and friendly service each time.
Brunch: Matcha Latte, Peach Bellini shrimp, grits, and eggs – yummy!

As far as hotel restaurants go, this one is pretty good. Always been pleased with the food and the atmosphere, especially a few times when I wanted to wind down in a relaxed bar environment with a drink and dessert.

My experience at Dear Charles was amazing. Me and my husband visited on a Thursday night for our weekly date night. We ordered drinks 10/10 (very strong). I ordered Roast Chicken (Ju Mashed Potatoes & Green Beans) for a dish to be so simple it was beyond delicious. My husband ordered a Charles Burger (well done), he enjoyed it however it was very meaty according to him. (Big burger lover). I want to also shout out to our waitress! She was very professional and provided us with above acceptable service. Thank you girly! From The Watson’s – Your Philly Favs!

This place has been around for two years and holds itself out as a cool-sophisticated spot. The food was nothing to rave about (spinach salad and small plate tacos). But the biggest disappointment was the service and front of the house staff. They were very slow and as a result the staff seemed half asleep. I hope that they can pay more attention to what they do. Everyone seemed on sleep-mode. Customer service was nearly nonexistent. The front of the house manager recognized it and apologized profusely and said she would do better. But it’s a great location and after two years they still are not setting exacting standards and training their staff. I hold out hope for improvement. Otherwise it’s to bankruptcy court. The sad trivia mistress only detracts from their potential positive vibe. Buck up! You can do it!
