It felt like the staff was very focused on turning tables quickly. We were there during Valentine’s Day weekend celebrating a friend’s birthday, and while I understand it was a busy time, the pressure to leave felt excessive. We had ordered food and were still eating and drinking when another guest at our table placed an additional order to take home. The waitress visibly rolled her eyes, which was uncomfortable. After that, she repeatedly walked past the table every few minutes, staring in a way that made us feel rushed and unwelcome.
Later, I asked the owner/manager if someone could sing happy birthday. The reaction I received made it seem like the request was unreasonable, and when a staff member eventually came over, he appeared confused about what was happening — which made the moment awkward rather than celebratory.
Overall, the experience with the staff felt strange and uninviting, which was disappointing given how good the food actually is. I’d return for the cuisine, but I hope the service approach improves — especially when guests are there to celebrate special occasions.
The worst part was the staff’s behavior. The servers seemed to be hovering, waiting for tips. My son left a reasonable tip for the chef, and even after paying a $70 bill for only two people, we were stopped in front of all the customers so they could demand more tips, while the servers stared at us and talked among themselves. It was truly embarrassing and completely unprofessional. In the end, my son ended up giving three times more than he should have just to avoid further discomfort.
If you want to throw your money away, be publicly mistreated, and be served with attitude and zero professionalism for food that doesn’t even surpass the quality of a basic Chinese restaurant, then this place is for you. As for me, thank you… but there are far better places out there.
This was my first visit at this restaurant. We had to wait over 30 minutes and waited a while to get asked for our order. It was annoying to have to ask for a waitress to get our order taken. Good thing the food was good.
We go strictly for the Hibachi. They start you with soup and salad. Fried rice, Lo mein, fresh grilled veggies, and your meat/chicken/seafood choice. My choice is the Filet and Scallops. It’s never disappointed. My wife gets the Gluten-free meal which is plentiful and I’m sure equally good.
SERVICE
The server on Friday was ehhh… going through the motions. Generally they’re pretty pleasant and at least efficient. While they do the legwork, the chef is the one doing the meal… which takes us to —>
ATMOSPHERE
Our Hibachi chef was Ocean this time. Yep, pronounced like it’s spelled! He was great. There were kids at the table and he was sure to give them special attention.
Don’t wanna spoil the entertainment, but Ocean made the experience a lot of fun. Don’t forget the saki shots!
COST
Very reasonable for Hibachi. It’s BYOB which helps with the expense. Tipping is always tricky! Chef v server… hmmm.
Have a blast and enjoy!
Peace…
