A cozy establishment and great to have a nice lunch with friends. The service staffs were polite and professional and the hospitality was great. It would be even better if complimentary tap water was provided (after all we paid for service charge).

Despite that, I thought that service charge was well spent. There some issues with the sea bass dish and the waiting staff apologised with complimentary wines for both of us. On top of that they also waived off our tea charge.

My favourites were the terrine and steak. The Terrine taste grew on me and it’s an enjoyable food before the main. The medium rare steak was nicely seasoned. A tad tough though. With the savoury Terrine and Steak, the creme brulee was an excellent to complete the meal.

Overpriced and below average French cuisine. Vegetable soup was tasteless and the chicken was overcooked and dry to the point of being inedible. Even the bread and butter (which I had to request for) were not served hot and tasted stale, which is quite telling about their standards. Only the dessert was acceptable (but maybe because I lowered my expectations significantly.) If you want authentic French fare, please spend your money elsewhere!

Today is my 2nd time returning to this establishment. My first time was remembering the seating was cramp and there were no privacy when talking. Hence I did not want to revisit. But since I was thinking of good old french no frills food
, i decided to give the place another chance. We ordered Burgundy ( recommended by the staff) which went pretty well with the food.
1. Fried frog legs. – lots of fried garlic on top fried frogs. If you don’t like garlic, you wouldn’t like this.

2. Escargot – Served deshelled and cooked in lots of pistacio and some paste. Bread was served room temperature. Was asking if the bread could be served warm but the lady staff said this was how it was served here.

3. Beef cuts with sides – 3 Different cuts of meat served with sauce dip, roasted potatoes and slow cooked onions with wine. ( which was delish, felt the cook put in alot of effort in this. Perfectly cooked, goes very well with my wine. )

4. Rhubarb dessert – which looks like slimy apple tart served with vanilla ice cream. i actually enjoyed it. It was served warm and had a comfortable feeling to it. Only if the icecream was served separately it would be better. As it melted to fast when served on top of the dessert.

Overall a lovely hid away French place to visit. ( we went on weekend lunch).

an authenchic bistro restaurant with a cozu atmosphere. I really like the duck foie gras terrine here.

My partner brought us here for date night. From the get go, our waitress Macon put us at ease with excellent recommendations for the rillette and wine. The cote de boeuf was perfection, the shallot garlic confit was among the best I’ve ever had. The potato gratin and cheese platter are honorable mentions as well.

It’s not for everyday of course – the food is quite salty and fatty in the best possible way; we skipped dessert and called it a night after the beef.

We recently dined at the restaurant and opted for the pre-order menu, which expedited the service. The steak was exceptional, and the price for two persons was reasonable. While the wine selection is on the higher end, it’s worth noting that they offer options by the glass. The restaurant exudes a cozy ambiance and is situated on the quieter side of Armenian Street, away from the hustle and bustle. However, it’s important to note that the street may become busy during road festivals.

No complain about the food. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Wine recommendation was on point too. Love that the place is nice and cosy, unfortunately the downside is if you are seated next to a loud table it can be quite frustrating as the acoustic will be overwhelming.

Overall was pretty good, classic food. Service was quite good, food took a while to come. The space was cosy and great for a group meal.

Simple decor. Calme. Adequate service. I guess reviews depend on what was chosen. We had the $48++ 3 course set lunch.

The pork terrine was sizable and good. The bread was yumz.

The main course of hanger steak ( add $6) appeared to have been marinated some time ago. And shockingly salty! The French fries were very good. The sauce for the salmon was copious but super salty too.

The chocolate millefeuille was a simple dish. A bit too dry for me. I should have chosen the crème brûlée. Or even the ice cream.

There is no free water. No “carafe d’eau ici”. As we both had a slight cold, we made do with warm water at $1 per pax which was regularly refilled.

Overall, I was still glad to have been invited by my friend. I’ve walked by a few times but never visited. However, I don’t think I could return. It’s more than $60 per pax!!

I believe it’s a great place if you are willing to spend. But not if you are looking for “value”.

Food was certainly above average. Rillette was really tasty and well seasoned. Hanger steak was perfectly cooked. I thought the onions and garlic on it was a bit much. I sat on the second floor, which was a casual homey bar ambience. It was quite noisy when I was there, so certainly not a place for dates.
