Bf and I stopped in for lunch today and had (from L to R) the sweet potato tempura roll, MC roll, and Alaska roll. They were all so good and I love the variety of rolls they have. I will say I didn’t totally love the tablet ordering system only because every item had to be clicked on to see the ingredients, however, there was a stack of paper menus near the door that you could grab on the way in and reference. Overall had a very pleasant experience though and we will definitely be back.

Food was incredible! My husband and I visited Michigan city for a quick getaway to celebrate our anniversary and last minute switched dinner plans. Looked this place up and went an hour before closing and the service and FOOD…. OMG the food, I can’t express how much I’ve dreamed of the food since we got back home. We will be back!! The service and atmosphere were so cozy and welcoming! 10/10

This place was so cute. Looking at the reviews on here make no sense because this place is amazing. I was really craving sushi so I got a giant thing of miso soup, 2 types of sushi and chicken gyoza for $30! A great deal for extremely fresh and tasty food. Good portion sizes and not stingy on the sushi filling. This so my exact order at every sushi restaurant I go to and this place was so good I had to leave a review. 10/10.

First time visiting. Very nice restaurant. Food was quick and great tasting. The miso soup was made from scratch and you could tell. Probably the best I have ever had. Some picture of the entrees would be nice or some suggestions from the waiter on specials or recommendations.

While it’s fantastic they were able to get their own location, The move and change is disappointing.
They have a smaller dining area, and despite this, you don’t get checked on – we had a full table of five and when my guests arrived we were not brought out extra water cups. When the food was brought out, it was hard to get their attention despite the small dining space, and once the food was brought we continued to remain unchecked.
They got rid of the old menu and now you have to pass around iPads that everybody is touching.
The menu has been reduced, which oftentimes is a good thing but for my group many of our favorite items were gone.
We got the impression that some of the recipes have changed.
When paying, they hand you a device. So again we are touching everything, iPad, point of sale device.
When asked about splitting the bill, we were met with uncertainty – I ended up doing it myself on the point of sale device I was handed.
As others have said, gratuity is automatically added and you have to change the amount – so pay attention when you are paying
Before they closed the prior location to move, I would order regularly and my friends would visit regularly.
We were all disappointed.

The food was magnificent, magical, and memorable. The smells, sounds, and taste stand out in this restaurant. Although I didn’t care for the miso soup, as I would prefer more tufo and herbs, the broth wasn’t bad. However, the sushi was extremely good! From the presentation to the sauces to the first bite to the last bite, I was absolutely impressed. I also got excited about Hokkaido Sushi Restaurant having a secret menu. I look forward to eating from that in the future.

Happiness is here. Always fresh! We had the dumplings for an appetizer. They have quite an extensive list of rolls and food to order! I’m trying to remember the names of the rolls we got, but they were both delicious! I know I added extra crunch topping on them. I love the added crunch! We enjoyed hot sake and it was delicious. Service was great, the man came out and helped serve and pick up plates with a smile. That was refreshing too see! If you want fresh and delicious, stop here!!
