This place was all-round phenomenal! I got a sake bomb, and fresh coconut with a shot of sake. The waitress was also kind enough to give me girlfriend a fresh diet coke for the road in a to-go cup! The crab rangoon appetizer was great, the duck ramen was delicious, and the sushi rolls were fantastic too. Very friendly atmosphere with a nice fish tank behind the sushi counter. Would highly recommend!

Okay, so this sushi place is the best in town. First off, the vibe was super chill, with dimmed lights and cool art on the walls. The sushi chef was like, a total pro, making everything look like a work of art.

And the fish? Seriously the freshest I’ve ever had. Each piece just melted in my mouth, and the flavors were insane. They had some unique rolls too, like this one with spicy tuna that was out of this world.

Honestly, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to go back every week. If you’re ever in the area, we totally have to check it out together!

Overall this place was good but not among my favorite Asian places in Gainesville.
My friend and I ordered the crab Rangoon which was good, but in my opinion could have had more filling. I got the udon noodles with chicken. It was good but it wasn’t my favorite and I felt like there could have been a bigger portion size for the price. My friend got beef and shrimp fried rice which she enjoyed. The waitress gave us a lot of yum yum sauce which was nice.
As for the service, it was pretty good. The restaurant was pretty empty when we went so we got our food quickly and the waiter was attentive and nice.
The atmosphere in there is nice as well, it is clean and decorated. Overall I would say this place is decent and they have a lot of menu options

One of my favorite sushi places with a variety of non-sushi options. Caroline bites are our favorite appetizer, give them a shot! They also have an outdoor (covered) eating area. We eat here fairly often since they moved to their new location. Every time we’ve gone to eat in the patio area we’ve had a wonderful experience and we recommend it to the everyone!

Highly recommend this sushi spot in Haile!! The decor was refreshing, there’s indoor & outdoor seating, great food, and staff are very friendly.

We visited their other Gainesville location many times, and this location was just great. I ordered the red curry after having had to return the udon noodles, which are very undercooked and difficult to eat. Both meals were great, and they returned with the alternate dish without any problems. They were extremely friendly and the food is delicious.

Great outside meal. Rolls were amazing and they customize them if you want (I switched out salmon for tuna). Pleasant staff. Felt terrible for manger when person in table in front was terribly rude. But a few tables told her she was so respectful even when he didn’t deserve it. Great location, easy parking, quickly becoming a favorite!!

We enjoy coming to Volcanic Sushi because they have provided us with good service and tasty food while also allowing us to enjoy the outdoor seating. They have a nice outdoor area, and the staff do a good job bringing appetizers early before your main course, as well as keeping on top of drinks. There are a lot of choices for sushi in the Gainesville area, but Volcanic Sushi does well to make a good name for itself. I recommend this place to others, and we have even enjoyed several dinners here with friends, and I’m sure we’ll enjoy more to come!

Update for 10 August 2022, Wednesday

We went here with friends and family. It was a good place to share dinner with family from out of the area. A quiet and nice place for a weekday evening dinner. My only gripe was that the bugs outside were very persistent. But this is not fault of the restaurant, more so the season. Still, the food was delicious, and I most liked the John I sushi roll I had today. It was the tinfoil cooked sushi roll in the picture. Today I’d give the service a rating of 4 star, which is good but not great. But I’m sure it could have been other factors such as low staff. The service was friendly and accommodating, although a few cups ran dry, and the check took a while to come out as we sat outside and the bugs got worse. I would definitely still come back and enjoy more meals here indoor or outdoor. Enjoy!

Started with the kimchi octopus and it was good. The misses had the lady finger. I had eel with spicy Mayo and eel sauce < —- this was damn good! Best part of hands down. The duck ramen fell flat. There is a lack of spice and a desperate need of salt in the dish.
