We love Scala’s, and it makes sense since we’re also big fans of the owner’s other restaurant, Bistro Don Giovanni. The food is consistently excellent and very well made. Every dish we’ve had has been thoughtfully prepared, and the specials are always worth ordering.
If arancini is available as a special, get it. Our favorites are the lasagna and the short ribs, but honestly, everything on the menu has been solid.

Scala Osteria was absolutely packed, but since we had a reservation we were seated right away while walk-ins were quoted over an hour wait — definitely recommend reserving ahead. The staff went above and beyond by leaving a handwritten card for our special occasion, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Everything was on point, especially the spaghetti con gamberi & vongole — perfectly cooked pasta and full of flavor seafood. Finished with an excellent tiramisu that did not disappoint. The vibe is fun and upbeat with a great bar, a big pizza oven, and an energetic atmosphere without feeling chaotic.
Bonus: street parking at night wasn’t hard at all. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Delicious food! They had a special truffle pasta and it was breathtaking. Service was great and our server was very knowledgeable. We had a birthday and they even wrote us a birthday card which was such a nice touch. My toddler also loved that he could color on the table. Make sure to make a reservation!

I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. The food, the service, the venue were all fantastic. We were here for our anniversary and they made us feel so special with a card and a special dessert. The wine was so yummy and our waitress the sweetest! We will come back just to experience it all again. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We had dinner with friends, everything was very good. I had the Halibut special, moist and delicious. Service was very good. The only down side was that our party was larger than 4 people so it was difficult to get an reservation. There is only one table that I saw with capacity greater than four. If you are a party greater than four you may want to split into separate parties.

Small but fun little Italian restaurant in downtown Napa. It was crowded and loud but we had a reservation so we got right in. Small table, center aisle but we made it work. Service was a bit slow but Jose the abuser made it enjoyable. Huge portions but I couldn’t eat very much so had my lasagna over next 2 nights. I don’t recommend the lemonade as it was sour and too acidic. Too full to try their fabulous dessert menu.

One of the best italian places in town. Had their seafood pasta, tiramisu and margherita pizza all of which were 10/10.
The vibe is pretty good too, will definitely revisit!

Evening’s expedition led us to Scala Osteria, a most curious establishment whose prices appear to have been plucked directly from the imagination of a man unacquainted with restraint. Each dish paraded forth at a cost that suggested it might perform opera upon arrival. Alas, none sang.
Our cocktails, two in number and both equally confounding, bore more spirit in price than in content. I sipped, I pondered, and finally concluded that alchemy must have been attempted and abandoned halfway through. One even contained a small piece of foil, as if the bartender had mistaken alchemy for garnish. To their credit, the manager and waiter handled the matter with grace and promptly removed the drink from the bill, a noble gesture amidst the confusion.
The oysters, I concede, were delightful, though their excellence owed more to the ocean than to the kitchen. They arrived fresh, proud, and completely untarnished by human interference, a blessing, perhaps, in this setting.
The spaghetti, brave and earnest, alone redeemed the evening, though in a portion so meager I feared I might require a magnifying glass to properly admire it. A noble dish, tragically slain by its own modesty.
The ambience, however, was enchanting with the illusion of refinement. One might be lulled into believing the experience divine… until the bill arrived, stern and unamused.
Thus ended our night at Scala Osteria: a tale of charm and confusion, flavor and folly. I left both full of questions and yet mysteriously hungry, a Shakespearean tragedy in four courses.

This local downtown fave has a sister restaurant, Don Giovanni-both are good. This time we had lunch. Between the four of us we had lasagna, ravioli, and halibut accompanied by salad and lemonade. All good with a bright atmosphere.
