Roxanne is a great bartender. She gives excellent service and knows how to read guests well. I worked in the industry a long time so I know what to look for. The atmosphere is super chill with the right lighting, good amount of high tops and bar tops. One of the best things is they don’t have overbearing loud music or Karaoke blasting and this was on a Friday night. I was even so happy with them that I went back Monday night. I was glad that they gave me plastic silverware in a package so I didn’t have to worry about sanitation. Im not from Indiana/Illinois Im from Tennessee. However if Im ever back here, I’ll be sure to return. If you want a local neighborhood bar-like service and atmosphere but more than juat a 10 seat bar top, then check them out.

I have been to Sheffield’s for a couple of months now. It’s the best place in town to find meal deals and drink deals. The food is amazing. The service is great and everyone is friendly. Wednesday it’s Italian Beef sandwich and fries night. Friday is the Fish and chips. The Cajun fries are delicious too. I can rave on and on. Just go and check out the menu.

Decent, clean bar with good food. However, the weekday service could use improvement I waited about 5–10 minutes for a drink and felt a bit ignored, which made the experience less enjoyable. On the weekend, though, the service was noticeably better and my server was very friendly. One thing that struck me as odd is their weekend policy after 9pm, you must be 25 or older to enter, which feels a bit excessive. Overall, despite a few quirks, it’s still a place I’d come back to.

I would call this a dive bar but it was the highlight to my stay in Merrillville. The drinks were a fair price the atmosphere was cool and it had smoking allowed in the bar so that brought me back to how bars used to be and it was just a cool experience. The waitress had to ID us all and we’re in our late 30’s so that was kinda weird but she got nicer as the night went on. The food was another high point for me. I don’t remember what the burger was called but they had a 1 lb burger option that would have been the biggest burger I can remember ever seeing offered at a bar but….. they also offered it as a double! I finished the 1 lb burger but my friend couldn’t finish the 2lb one. I would go here again next time I’m in town.

This is a nice place. Nice servers, pool tables. Good atmosphere. But.. disappointed that I couldn’t eat because everything of fried, both sea food and others. In the same grease. Ended up leaving. If allergies isn’t your issue stop by and check them out.

I never had an issue with Sheffield’s until I encountered a security guard, employed by them, that demanded proof of gender to use the restroom. This dumbfounded idiot couldn’t see that I was a female and couldn’t even see the “proof” from my ID (it was an Indiana state driver’s license that said loud and clear ‘Sex: F’ …. not something from another state or country). Needless to say I was appalled and shook up, but despite the charade of idiocracy I took my ID back and used the restroom that I was already using the entire night. One of the owners dismissed this as a “bad experience”, as if I was served cold food. This person was never reprimanded nor was there any actual concern from the owners. My partner and I were loyal customers and we even corrected the bill from being UNDER charged that night, prior to the incident, as they forgot to add our meal to the bar tab. Security’s job is to verify people’s identity for legal drinking age, not to “police” the restrooms.
