Carniceria El Amigazo, El Rey de Las Carnitas, is a family owned, small Mexican convenience store/Taqueria. We offer fresh meat for all your cooking or barbeque needs, fresh produce, domestic and imported beer, and hot Mexican food to dine in or take out. We have plenty of seating for dine in customers, inside and outside. We make fresh Carnitas and Chicharrones daily, as well as offer many varieties of fresh homemade salsas.

Do NOT go early in the morning because you will be getting their reheated leftovers! And they are not good. We purchased about 1.5lbs of carnitas and literally received oil soaked scraps! The worst part is that the majority of clients that go in the a.m. are usually farm workers. This, to me, is unacceptable. We did go back and the manager confirmed that it was the leftovers and tried to rectify the problem. My issue is why sell it in the first place and at the same price? I’m just disappointed because this isn’t the first time they’ve done this and I keep going back because they are usually good but this is definitely my last time going there.

This is the spot! The parking is a little inconvenient but it’s totally worth it. Anything you order is going to be authentic and delicious. Exactly what you’re looking for in a Mexican carniceria/marketa/restaurant. If you’re going through Bakersfield this is a must stop.

The food here is absolutely delicious! I ordered the carnitas plate and my husband got a piping hot bowl of menudo. The carnitas was the best I’ve EVER had and the menudo was incredible. The service was also really good. Everyone was very friendly and professional. We’ll be back everytime we’re coming through Bakersfield

(Below is a picture of half of the breakfast burrito) Wanted to try this place so I purchased a breakfast burrito, I wasn’t impressed for $10.00 it’s not worth it, way over priced, very little ham,bacon,chorizo but lots of potatoes,that they use as a filler. Won’t be back,take my advice go down the street to Ben Paca Mexican Restaurant their breakfast burritos are at least 2 times bigger with lots of meat,eggs,and few potatoes and for the same price!
