It was so close to 5 stars but when I get to the stake I was little bit disappointed
Stake was little bit to dry and chewy
Other then that everything was delicious

Not great but not bad… my daughter and I went here for a quick lunch. We both got a gyro, and I was slightly disappointed that it wasn’t cut off the gyro cooking in the back, but taken out of the steam line. It was okay. Not the best gyro. That being said, I also order a falafel taco and that was really good. The service was good when we got there, but when we finished our food and needed boxes, the person who worked there was in the back. I mean they were probably busy working, but they should balance work in the back with coming out and checking on customers in the dining room. My daughter was standing there for awhile waiting for the employee to come out and give us boxes. Finally she said, “Well maybe if I walk out and walk back in to ring the bell they will come out.” And that’s exactly what happened, the employee laughed that she had to do that, and it was kind of funny. I will be back. The food it good. I have had the shawarma before and it was amazing. I think I’ll go somewhere else for a gyro though. I want to try the falafel plate because the falafel had a delicious complex flavor. I think we will do take out next time though.

Usually food is good. No complaints there. But today we found a tiny piece of metal wire in lentil soup. Looks like a piece of metal scrubber used to clean the utensils. This raises serious questions about their hygiene standards. Probably best to avoid in future.

My recent dining experience at Fill-A-Pita Mediterranean Grill in Downers Grove was outstanding. This cozy, casual spot offers a diverse menu featuring both classic and innovative Mediterranean dishes.

We started our meal with the Hummus topped with Chicken and Pita Bread, which was creamy and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the tender chicken. The Grape Leaves were another great starter, fresh and well-seasoned.

For the main course, I opted for the Steak Shawarma Platter, and my partner had the Chicken Kabob Plate. The steak was incredibly flavorful, with spices that brought out the best in the meat, while the chicken kabob was juicy and perfectly grilled. Both dishes came with sides of yellow rice and a refreshing cucumber yogurt salad, which balanced the savory meats nicely.

We couldn’t resist trying their famous Baklava for dessert. It was the perfect way to end our meal, sweet and flaky with just the right amount of nuts and honey.

The staff at Fill-A-Pita were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit. The restaurant was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both quick bites and leisurely meals.

Overall, Fill-A-Pita offers delicious Mediterranean cuisine with excellent service. We will definitely be returning to explore more of their menu.

Highly recommended for anyone in the Downers Grove area looking for authentic and satisfying Mediterranean food!

I recently visited rhis restaurant and ordered the Mixed Grill. It came with chicken, kebab, and chunks of meat, all perfectly cooked. The sides of hummus and salad, along with the fresh bread, were delicious. The restaurant was spotless, and the owner was incredibly friendly. There’s a great variety of dishes to try, and everything looked fantastic. Highly recommend it!

Excellent fresh halal Mediterranean!! What to expect:
– Freshly prepared grilled chicken kabobs (boneless chargrilled chicken), kefta kabobs, crispy falafel. Not fast food! Order ahead or expect a 10-15 min wait. Try their lentil soup!
– Shawarma, fries (excellent, crispy and not oily) are quicker fast food if you’re looking for that. Naan is also very fresh and soft
– Clean inside and enough seating to dine in
– Very nice staff (we dined in)
– Not a fancy sit down, so don’t expect that.

The food was delicious. Everything was made fresh that I can tell and most of what we ordered were traditional options but with a twist, or at least new to us.

The service was very fast and the folks that took our order and brought out the food were very courteous.

The location is a bit difficult to see from the street but it’s tucked in between El Famous Burrito and Applebee’s. The space inside is very clean and plenty of seating for the lunchtime crowd.

We’ll be going again soon.

Really nice quick Mediterranean food.
The location here is great since we need more Mediterranean restaurants in the area. The dining was kind of standard but the food was pretty delicious. The staff here are chill. I enjoyed the mixed grill for sure. I always loved sikh kabobs.
Their rice was also nice their was an orange and yellow type.
Overall 5/5 recommend come here

The food here is soooo good , always fresh and hot. My favs are the falafel, chicken bowl , and the WINGS !!!!! They added the grilled wings recently and I can’t get enough. They are made to order so expect about a 12-15 min wait to make them . You have to go in and order them. Please add them online for pick up and delivery ! The staff is also very pleasant and the dining and cooking areas are kept neat and clean !
