Wow! When we first stepped into El Señor Pig Mexican Restaurant we knew we were somewhere special. I had never heard of this place but my fiancé wanted a specific food for dinner, Mexican food! We googled, we both read reviews and this stuck out to us. Not realizing our huge mistake we chose another restaurant. So our first choice was not El Señor Pig but the universe said ‘nope! This wasn’t in the plan for your big weekend getaway from Columbus to come down here.”

Back story: we had planned a weekend trip down to the Cincinnati/Ky area so we could visit the Newport Aquarium. We had both been so busy and grieving the loss of my dad back in August. This trip was for us to spend time alone without distractions. Needless to say, it was a great weekend because I got engaged! Before we got to the restaurant he had bent down on one knee and gave me the most beautiful ring. So dinner was a big deal and boy did it not disappoint!

Back at the first restaurant, we walk in and it wasn’t what we had pictured as far as sitting down and having a relaxing dinner. There were people standing in front of a window where customers are supposed to order their food, then go to the bar to order drinks, then you can sit down and wait for both. We stood and waited behind two people but after 15 minutes we chose to go elsewhere. That’s how we got to El Señor Pig We ordered fajitas for two with pork, steak, shrimp, bell pepper and onions. We each had a medium house margarita which were the cutest with a little pig with sunglasses sitting on top of each. The cast iron skillet they brought the fajita toppings in was enough for four or more people! The place was beautiful and so appealing to the eye and senses. It was an old bank and had most of the original vaults and such. The energy was great and service even better!

Our entire bill, including a $20 tip, was less than $80! Totally worth it and the leftovers were eaten for a couple days. I would highly recommend and I’m planning a day trip with my two kids so they can experience the refried beans, which are out of this world delicious.

Cheese dip with pulled pork was a great suprise. Margaritas were good and large. Burrito was very tasty. Tacos were decent. Meat was a little fatty. Would recommend and have been back several times.

Just moved down the street from this place and decided to get take out for the family. . I ordered a cheese quesadilla, a cheese chile relleno, and a cheese tamale. My wife got 2 beef quesadillas and a shredded chicken quesadilla. We also ordered a large order of chips and a large queso.
I arrived and was greeted promptly and nicely.
The food was slightly below our satisfaction, because of inaccuracy and portion size.
The cheese tamale I ordered had chicken in it, which was disappointing. Also, the large chips (5.99) are not close to enough to go through a large queso, and we were left with a lot of extra queso with no chips to eat it with! Surprised the chips were so expensive for such a small bag. Of course I’m willing to pay for chips, but the under zealous handful was very disappointing.
Not sure if we are interested in trying this restaurant again with so many Mexican cuisine options close-by.

Super cute design and beautiful incorporation of the old, existing design and a new, refreshed look. Food was delicious and well-priced. Staff was very kind and attentive. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Cincinnati-area so far. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a balance of affordable and high-quality.

Tasty! Nice hometown atmosphere. Salsa excellent. We had the lunche chicken chimi and the lunche Mr. Pig burrito. The rice is moister than most others. The guac is kick-ass. Definitely doing again!

It was Cinco de Mayo, the fifth of May, and my daughter informed my wife that her friend’s family restaurant had just opened. We decided to visit and see how it was. Street parking was readily available, and I believe that was the only parking option.

The restaurant was quite busy, as expected for Cinco de Mayo, but our wait time was only about seven minutes. There’s a small section in the front with a few tables and a bar. The patio was open, but it was too chilly for us to sit outside. We were seated in the back area, which had several more tables, so the restaurant has ample seating.

The service was acceptable. Rosa, the daughter’s friend, was our server. She was new and a little nervous, but she did well considering the restaurant had only been open for three days. It’s a family-owned and operated establishment.

The food was quite good. The only minor issue was that part of our appetizer arrived with our main course, but it was easily resolved. My wife’s strawberry margarita was a bit strong, but the food was hot and flavorful.

Surprised to see a Mexican restaurant replaced with another Mexican restaurant, but had to give it a try!

I have been here 2x since opening, and the experience has been “okay” both times. Considering I have been the only customers dining in both times, the service seemed bothered I was there?

Food was okay, nothing to write home about. To be fair, I ordered pretty basic food and nothing super authentic. Basic beef and cheese nachos…no other fixings came with them. Just seemed like something I could microwave at home LOL, but again not sure what I would expect based on what I ordered so more of an observation than a complaint.
Their salsa was fantastic though!! Would come back just to snack on some of that. It seemed to be made in house with pieces of onion, cilantro, and seasoning in it.

Parking is more than abundant with a full parking lot attached to the building and plenty of street parking if somehow you go when there’s more than 1 other person there.

Total experience would probably be 3.5 stars if I could.

Best Mexican around! I live nearby so I have been there multiple times! Consistently delicious! Salsa and chip to start are crunch and perfectly spiced. The pig queso dip is well worth adding if you are hungry. Topped with pork and creamy. Chicken chili has moist grilled chicken. Side of rice is accented with veggies and the beans are chunky not mushy and pasty. Love the Chile relleno. Best I have had anywhere. Birria taco are also a hit. Beer is icy cold and good deal. Place is super clean. I like dine in to sit and enjoy everything fresh and hot. We always have a second meal from the good sized portions.Staff is polite and friendly. Try it. You can park right in front on street.

Our food was absolutely delicious! Would definitely return if we lived in the area. Some of the best guac I’ve had in a long time. My hubby’s pollo ranchero was to die for and while my enchiladas were also fantastic, one bite of his food made me wish I’d gotten it also! Great spot!
